“W-Where are you, Tyler?”

“I’m sorry, Anthony. I can't come back. He’ll kill me, too.” I pull the phone away and toss it to the ground. I’ve heard enough.

“As much as I love this heartfelt conversation, I’ve got things to do tonight, so let’s get this show on the road.” My heart beats in my chest as I take in the scene around me.

Looking down at Anthony, his lips start to move, but I don't actually hear a single thing.

Anthony's life ends tonight.

Tyler is next.

Roman’s already working on something for the Dean.

Not wanting to hear his sobs anymore, I pull his hair back, grab the knife, and slide it along his throat. His screams are music. The unmistakable scent of blood fills my nostrils. It’s a smell that triggers an instinctual response deep within me, both repelling and captivating my senses.

“Now you know what it feels like to get what you never asked for.” Stepping back, I watch until he takes his last breath, wanting to see the life seep from his eyes. Dropping the knife, I leave him in a puddle of blood. Outside the bathroom, Ace leans against the wall, arms crossed, shaking his head. He doesn’t even bother commenting on the blood covering me. Concern flickers in his eyes, but he keeps it to himself.

“Can you get that cleaned up?” I nod in the direction of the bathroom as I head out of the dorm, next to where Ace is waiting. I desperately need a shower to wash all of this shit off me before returning to the hospital.

“What is with all of you guys creating these messes and making me clean them up?” He huffs, pushing off the wall and opening the door. “Good fucking lord, Seb.” He pulls out his phone and starts calling someone, and I stand there listening to what he says to the person on the other end as I walk away, his words fading out the farther I get.

“Roman, I’m gonna need some help cleaning up Sebastian’s mess.” He’s silent for a few minutes before continuing. “I don’t care, get your ass here. I cleaned up your last mess! You can come fucking help me.” Shaking my head, I don’t look back as I stop to wait for the elevator and make my way to Mary's dorm room.

Pulling the key from my pocket, I unlock her room and step inside. I’m hit with the smell of her.Lavender and vanilla. My hands itch with the need to feel her skin on mine again.

I strip off my clothes and start the shower. The feeling of the hot water burns my skin as every aching thought runs through my mind from tonight, but it feels healing, cleansing—one step closer to getting revenge for Mary.

Chapter 24

Sebastian

Two weeks later

It’sbeentwoweekssince the worst night of my life—two weeks since I almost lost her. And every single second of each day, I haven't left her side. It's probably annoying the shit out of her, if I'm being honest.

I’ve been bundled up on the couch with her in my arms all day, barely letting her go to the bathroom alone, because I don't want to risk anything happening to her. She keeps telling me none of this is my fault, but that's not true. I might not have known about the blackmail or what Tyler and Anthony did, but I should’ve put it together. I was in denial about everything. Mary has been my best friend for years, and I know her better than anyone, but I let my fears cloud my judgment. I should've pushed harder, made her crack and tell me months ago. Instead, I shut her out.

There's still no word on Tyler’s whereabouts. He’s done a good job staying hidden, but Roman’s been keeping tabs. It’s only a matter of time before we find him.

Aside from finding Tyler, we took care of Dean Westwood. The day after Anthony died, the Dean was found dead too. Apparently, he passed away in his sleep. When I asked Roman about it, he only smiled. I didn't press on what he did to the old bastard. One less piece of shit on the earth.

We decided to have a movie night tonight. Maddie picked something calledJohn Wick.I have no idea what’s going on because I haven’t taken my eyes off Mary the whole time.

Her blonde hair falls gracefully down her back and over her shoulders, and my dick hardens at the memory of how I had it wrapped tightly around my fist—her mouth taking me perfectly until I hit the back of her throat.

Her head swings towards me when my fingers lightly trail between her thighs. She sucks in a breath before sending me a scowl, her cute little button nose scrunching up.

“Would you pay attention?” she asks, trying to sound mad, but I can hear the amusement creeping through.

“I am,” I smirk, and her eyes roll. “What I’m paying attention to is so much more entertaining.” She leans back into my arms just as the front door swings open and slams shut. Roman waltzes in with a grin on his face.

“Got a present for you, Mary.” His sly smirk widens. She looks up at me, confused—until it clicks.

“You found him?” She jumps off the couch, basically running into Roman. “I did, Little Rebel.” Her head whips back toward me, and her eyes are full of eagerness.

“Where is he, Roman?” I ask, getting off the couch and moving to stand behind Mary.

“Basement.” His one-word answer causes Mary to start toward the stairs, but before she can descend, I wrap my arms around her waist.
