Both of them follow me down the hall to my room. As soon as I open the door, I stop at the sight in front of me, causing both of them behind me to crash into me with grunts. Jane is on her stomach on the bed, her top off and just a bra on, her jeans are off of one leg and around the ankle on the other, leaving her mainly in her black lace panties. Her cell phone is in her hand and she is completely passed out.
Chuckling comes behind me.
“Well, it looks like none of us is getting any tonight.” Juan speaks the obvious.
Turning around, I push them both out of the doorway. “Yeah, but she’s still in my bed tonight, so get your asses out of here.”
“See you in the mornin’, brother.”
“’Night.”
Chapter 15
Jane
Waking up, it sounds like an ‘80s stadium concert is playing in my head and my tongue feels like the Sahara. Good lord, this is why tequila and I aren’t friends. I hear a door open and I realize I don’t remember going home last night, but I know the guys wouldn’t let me end up somewhere unsafe since they were here. Ugh, it’s like Tico Torres is playing drums right on my forehead with Slash playing guitar in my ears.
“Babygirl, you awake?”
“No. Alive, barely.”
“Well, sit up and take some more aspirin while I go start the shower.”
Does he not understand that the only thing keeping this concert somewhat at bay is this pillow on top of my head? “Mmm-hhmm.”
“Babygirl, there’s someone out in the common area waiting to see you.”
“Who’s out there?”Who the hell knows I’m here?
“Nicky’s out there. He told me to tell you and I’m quoting here, to get the hungover woman out here. Tell her I’ve got Mochas and Jojos.”
My mouth waters at the thought, but I need more information before I leave the cocoon I’ve made myself of blankets, since Jon thinks it’s normal to get up at the ass crack of dawn on a Sunday.
“Did he get Ranch and Fry sauce?”
I can feel him chuckling softly as he sits next to me on the bed. “He said you’d ask that and to tell you that he’s not uncivilized so of course he got plenty of both.”
“Okay, I’ll get up then. Are you going to join me in the shower?”
“I would in a heartbeat, babygirl, but that would not be a fast shower. Nicky’s out there and is antsy to see you and make sure he didn’t ruin your friendship yesterday. I know how much he means to you, so you better get in there by yourself, babygirl. Just know that’s a raincheck I’ll be collecting on here real soon.”
“It’s a real good thing there’s coffee and carbs waiting for me, or that answer wouldn’t fly, mister.”
A big belly laugh I’ve never heard from Jon before comes out. He grabs me and lifts me as if I weigh nothing and sets me on his lap. “You’re gonna keep on my toes aren’t you, babygirl?” He doesn’t wait for an answer but kisses me to distraction, I don’t even notice the concert for one in my head while he’s kissing me. Before I’m ready, he stops the kiss and quickly stands me up and slaps my ass.
“Woman, get in the shower. Nicky’s probably propositioning any brother who is awake out there.”
Wanting my coffee overrides my desire to argue with him more, so I head into the bathroom to take a shower.
I take a few minutes to just stand under the hot water and take in the day that was yesterday. Uncle Ben is actually my uncle. Vicky really is a horrible bitch of a person. I slapped my first hoe and drank way too much tequila with two sisters. Well, one as I noticed one was specifically only pretending to drink. Oh and my bestest friend in the whole world is outside wondering if I hate him or not. That’s a lot to unpack before caffeine.
When I get out of the bathroom, there’s a bag on the bed. Looking inside, I can see a change of clothes and know Nicky must have brought them. I quickly dress and brush my hair before putting it up in a ponytail. This is not the day to attempt makeup. I put my sunglasses on ‘cause the world is too bright right now. I slip my flip-flops on and head out toward the common area.
As I walk into the common room, I see Nicky sitting with my men. In front of him are two large cups from Sooner or Later and looks like a large bag from the best place in town to get Jojos. He really is worried.
“Please tell me there’s an extra shot at least in that cup.”
Nicky looks at me, and I could swear his eyes are glassy. As he starts talking, he stands up.
