I begin to collapse, but his arm bands around my waist and holds me up. “Wow.” I breathe audibly, my heart racing in my chest.
“Best lunch I’ve ever had,” he says and peppers my neck with kisses.
After Jason helps me to my feet, he discards the condom and we make quick work of dressing. This is the first time I’ve ever had sex in an office. Now I want to know if it will be just as hot in my office.
“You’re turning me into a sex-craved psycho,” I mutter, righting my clothes.
“Why do you say that?”
I lift my arms up and signal the room around us. “I’ve never done it in an office before.”
He smirks. “Neither have I, and I have to admit, I’m already wondering about when we can do it again.”
I giggle. “I was thinking the same about my office.”
“I like the way you think, sweetheart.”
My stomach growls, and his face falls.
“Shit, I’m sorry. Here you are hungry, and I attack you instead.”
“Don’t be. I’m not. That was totally worth it, plus I’m pretty sure I nearly begged for it.”
Jason looks at his watch and sighs. “Unfortunately, I’m all out of time to run out and grab food.” A sound outside the office draws our attention toward the door. “From the sound of it, the ladies are returning.” He rounds his desk and opens a drawer. “Um, I have jerky, pretzels, and peanuts?”
I chuckle and move around his desk. “I’ll take it, but you owe me dinner, mister.”
Jason sits and pulls me onto his lap. “I’ll get you dinner and dessert.”
“Brownie sundae?” I ask after swallowing a bite of jerky.
“I’ll give you anything you want.”
My heart flips at the silent promise in his words. When our eyes meet, I see he’s not only talking about dinner and dessert. I can have a future with this man, one I’d almost given up on.
A knock on the door makes me jump from his lap, and he chuckles. I glance downward to verify I’m put together, and he opens the door.
“Hey!” Dr. Froberg says before she looks between us. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
The smirk on her face tells us she knows what happened in here a few minutes ago. My face warms, and I swallow a bite of jerky.
“You didn’t. What’s up, Greta?”
“Just seeing if you were back. I ran into Ava on the way out. When’s your next appointment?”
Jason flicks his watch into view. “In fifteen.”
I should leave, but they are in the doorway. It’s awkward standing next to his desk alone. Dr. Froberg sneaks a peek at me. Her expression is soft and welcoming, but I can tell she’s examining me.
“I should leave,” I blurt and grab my purse from the floor where it fell.
“I’m sorry, Ava. I didn’t mean to make you rush out of here,” Dr. Froberg says when I stand next to Jason.
“No, it’s fine. I should get back to work too.”
Jason cups my cheek and brushes his lips against mine. My face goes warm at the display of affection in front of Dr. Froberg. “I’ll pick you up tonight.”
Unable to form words, I nod. When I turn to leave, Dr. Froberg offers me a sweet smile. “It was nice seeing you again.”
