“It was nice seeing you too,” I mutter before rounding her and hurrying down the hall. I ignore the curious glances from the nurses and rush out without looking at the waiting room.

Once my car is turned on, I lean my head against the headrest. I can smell Jason on my skin. The scent calls to mind the memories we created before my embarrassment had me tuck tail and run.

My phone vibrates, and I’m forced back to the present.

Jason: When can we do it again because that was fucking hot!

I frown and tap out my reply.

Ava: It was hot. I think Dr. Froberg knows though.

Jason: I don’t know, maybe? She likes you. Told me after you ran out.

Ava: I didn’t run!

Reading my lie, I sigh. “Damn coward. You totally ran.”
