The crunch of rocks warned Sadie their moment alone was nearly over. A quick turn of her head over her shoulder confirmed it. The Evans clan, minus Haylee and Melly who would be on that last flight, were descending on the ceremony spot with the glacier view. “But—”

“We need to get into place, everyone,” Mom announced, using that familiar authority in her tone that snapped everyone to attention.

As they obeyed and moved to their designated places, Sadie heard the distant roar of the plane engine again. Her concerns about life and love would have to wait. It wasn’t as if she didn’t have time. Well, unless Dad reallydidsell the store. Then she’d need to find a new job. The thought made her heart squeeze with sadness. It was strange to be remiss about the store changing ownership when she’d never cared about it before.Maybe I can convince Dad to change his—

Laurel elbowed Sadie, shaking her from her thoughts as the plane touched down. “Smile,” her older sister instructed. “Today is all about Cody and Jenna, remember?”

“Right.” For the first time, Sadie didn’t have to bite down on a snappy retort to such a comment. She smiled. Maybe there was hope for her after all.

She watched with the rest of the clan as Jenna stepped out of the plane in an elegantly simple white gown with a band of white flowers in her hair. She’d been smarter to style it up so the wind couldn’t destroy her curls. Even from a distance, Jenna looked positively radiant.

“I thought she didn’t like to fly,” Sadie whispered to Laurel.

“Cody’s been taking her out once a week since he decided to stay,” Laurel answered as Haylee emerged from the opposite side of the plane, holding Melly on a hip with one arm and guiding Graham on a leash with the other. The pup let out a few enthusiastic barks, announcing the bride. “Graham, too. They fly better together.”

Sadie looked back at her brother, the emotion etched on his face hitting her square in the chest. She wiped away a tear pricking the corner of her eye. Okay, now she understood why Mom was a blubbering, happy mess. With the stunning Alaska landscape and view of Bear Glacier, the small gathering of family, and the abundance of happiness and love emitting from each and every one of them, this moment felt like a fairytale.

Sadie vowed that one day she would find a man who looked at her the same way Cody was looking at Jenna walking down the aisle.
