Suddenly, I feel a lurch in my stomach, and something damp runs down the inside of my thighs. Even though I have been on high alert for this for weeks, it takes me a moment to realize what is happening.
"Oh my god!" I exclaim.
"What happened?" Ethan asks. "Did I hurt you?"
"No, no," I assure him. "I – I think my waters just broke."
I see his eyes widen in the mirror, and then he wraps his arms around me and pulls me close.
"This is really happening," he says with a grin.
I smile and lean against him. I am a little freaked, but more than anything, I am excited. My husband I, we’re going to welcome our first child into the world.
"I love you," I whisper and he turns me around so he can kiss me properly, his mouth smiling against mine.
"And I love you." Ethan cups my face in his hands and looks deep into my eyes. "And right now, we need to forget about that premiere, and get you to the hospital."
"Whatever you say, Prince Charming," I laugh, and he plants me down on the bed and picks up his phone.
I close my eyes, savoring these last few moments of just the two of us.
Because soon, it’s going to be the three of us. And everything will change.
For the better. Forever.
