“Someone should go after him,” I said. “I don’t want him to go alone. He might get hurt.”
“This sounds like a job for the deltas,” Lennon said with a grin. “It’ll be our pleasure, princess.”
I was more than aware of my brother’s intentions. In fact, I had agreed with them, but now the idea of him walking in there alone terrified me. Lennon and Mason didn’t hesitate to say a hasty goodbye and rush out the door. If they took their time to get ready, my brother would’ve been long gone.
An engine roared to life moments after the door closed, then they were gone.
Suddenly, the coffee was sitting poorly on my stomach, the panic rising so fast that I could barely swallow it down.
This was not how I saw the morning going. I was so happy when I woke up, and of course they had to ruin it. The assholes had to prove that, once again, they would never give me what I needed.
Every single message and voicemail was all about them. HowIdid this tothem. There was no accountability, no remorse. They genuinely didn’t seem to understand what they had done.
“Why don’t we go watch a movie or something?” Kieran suggested.
Cade nodded, standing quickly. “I’ll grab some of the things from your nest. Wilder, sit close, maybe your scent will help.”
“Come on, princess,” Wilder said gently, holding his hand out for me.
No amount of beta pheromones or snuggles were going to fix this now.
I was going to be a wreck until my brother’s truck pulled back into the driveway, and hopefully he didn’t end up in the back of a police cruiser.

Thank God Lennon stole the keys right out of Conrad’s hand, shoving him into the passenger seat. He was in no state to drive that far.
I climbed into the back of his extended cab truck, not bothering to say a word. We were all seething and out for blood.
“Ferry or driving?” Lennon asked, breaking the silence as we neared the edge of Westgrave.
“Drive. I need to calm down before I murder them instead of just beating their asses,” Conrad said.
His voice was so strangely detached that a shiver ran through me. I wasn’t an easy delta to shake, but his fury was palpable.
As it should be.
I couldn’t believe that they had the balls to blame this on Lana. I had a feeling they truly had no idea what happened to her. They’d had one of the most incredible omegas in the world and then left her alone during a heat to suffer.
A heat that they should’ve been aware of.
We stopped once for gas at the edge of town. I hopped out, running inside to get drinks and snacks, knowing easily whattwo of my best friends wanted. It at least made me feel better to do something.
Conrad gave me a nod of thanks. That was the most he managed, his focus on the road ahead. I could tell that he was still trying to get his alpha under control.
It didn’t matter if Lana was an adult, she was still family, and I knew Conrad well enough to know that he would defend her until his dying breath.
The rest of us were all willing to do the same.
“How are we going to find them?”
“We’ll start at the arena, then the house the paramedics found her in.”
It was quiet after that. We didn’t bother turning on music, giving our friend the space he needed.
