I swallow. “Embarrassed.”

He leans in and brushes his lips against mine. “I’m glad it’s not ashamed, but there’s no reason to be embarrassed. I want you to be comfortable with me and this if we’re to go any further. Your comfort is the most important thing.”

I nod and the smile he offers me is soft.

“Get some sleep.”

I nuzzle into the bed, noticing how my mind has slowed down from its earlier war path. I take a deep breath and relax, allowing sleep to take me.

When I wake up in the morning it’s to the smell of food. I rub my eyes before putting my glasses on and slipping out of bed. I find Mac in the kitchen, a podcast of some sort playing as he makes his way around the kitchen. He must hear me because he smiles at me over his shoulder before returning to what he’s doing on the stove.

I make my way to the coffee pot and find the mugs in the cabinet about and pour myself a cup before adding a generous portion of sugar and finding milk in the fridge. I slip into a chair at the table and hold my coffee like it’s something precious and close my eyes. I don’t realize I’ve fallen to the cusp between being awake and asleep until Mac starts putting plates on the table and I startle.

“Sorry, Love.”

I smile and sit back in my chair while he brings two empty plates and cutlery.

“It’s not quite a full English breakfast, but I wasn’t sure how hungry you’d be.”

“Thank you. I’m usually slow to eat in the morning.”

He nods and doesn’t press me to eat, but rather loads his plate up with beans and toast, eggs, bacon, and sausage. As I sip my coffee, I notice Mac’s turned off his podcast and has moved to the newspaper. I stifle a yawn before heading back to the bedroom and grabbing my Kindle.

We sit at the table for a while, both of us reading our own things, and I realize that it feels normal. My friends are the fewpeople that I feel comfortable in silence with, and as I think about it, I’ve spent several occasions with Mac in silence and didn’t want to crawl out of my skin.

After a few chapters, I grab some food and make my way through it slowly.

My book is just ramping up when Mac asks, “Have you given any more thought to your list?”

I raise a brow. “List?”

He nods, taking a bite of bacon and swallowing before he says, “Yes. Your list of things you want to try.”

This man has me blushing again. I shake my head slightly and swallow. “No, not really.”

He pushes his newspaper to the side and puts his fork down, giving me his full attention. “Why don’t we work on it together.”

CHAPTER 23

Mac

Ilove the way Eliza blushes every time I bring up certain subjects. We haven’t discussed this idea of a list since she was over for dinner for us to discuss our arrangement. Now that we’ve started making bigger steps in achieving her manifestation, I want to know what exactly she wants to try.

“Ummm,” she starts and adjusts herself in her seat while fidgeting with her fork. “Okay.”

I can’t help my grin. She has my full attention, and I twist my chair to face her better. “Is there anything that you’ve thought you always wanted to try?”

She spins her fork between her fingers, her eyes focused on it before they return to me. “I’d like to, um...” She sits up and pulls her shoulders back, letting out a deep breath. “I’d like to try giving and receiving oral.”

There’s no question about that being on a list. I got a small taste of her last night, and if that didn’t feed into all my fantasies of spending hours between her thighs watching her quiver as eat her out.

“Okay, noted. Anything else.”

She blushes and ducks her head as she tucks hair behind her ears. I reach out and with two fingers under her chin, lifting her head making her meet my eyes. Her eyes are slightly wider, but she holds my gaze.

“You’re thinking of something specific right now. I want to know what it is.”

“I want to come...on your fingers...” She licks her lips. “In public while I fight to make sure no one notices.”
