“I’d like that,” I said softly. “But I should warn you, I’m not great at relationships. Never really had one that lasted.”

Azir’s lips curved into a smile. “Neither have I. Perhaps we can learn together.”

I couldn’t help but grin. “A djinn and a plumber. Sounds like the start of a bad joke.”

“Or a great adventure,” he countered, his eyes gleaming.

I yawned suddenly, the events of the day finally catching up with me despite the wonder of this moment.

“Rest now,” Azir smiled, pulling me close against him. “And when you wake, we’ll start our new life together.”

The thought should’ve frightened me, should’ve made me pause. Instead, all I felt was warmth and anticipation. Maybehaving a Djinn for a boyfriend was exactly what I’d always needed.

Somehow, I’d gotten two wishes for the price of one.
