Their touch had disgusted him.
No, he realized,he’dbeendisgusting. He’d been as unworthy of any kindness from them as hewas of his family’s understanding and support for him. If thosewomen knew the things running through his mind while he’d been withhim, they’d have run screaming. Often, he’d considered giving inand tearing their throats out so he could bathe in their blood.
He didn’t deserve for anyone to care forhim, especially not Maggie, but her hands on him soothed hisravaged soul in ways he’d never known possible. No thoughts ofkilling or inflicting pain went through his mind; he onlyexperienced the wonder of her. She made him crave more of hercaresses as her fingers moved over his shoulders and down his back.Unable to stop himself, he withdrew his cock partially from herbefore sinking inside again.
Maggie hadn’t expected her recently quenchedpassion for him to return so fast, but it sparked to life until itbecame a wildfire. One of his arms locked around her waist, and hisother hand cupped her nape as he took possession of her. Despitehis total control of her body, and the strength of thissupernatural being, she felt likesheheldhimin thepalm of her hand, as if he was somehow more vulnerable than herright now.
His face turned into her neck, he inhaledher sweet scent and shuddered when her hands ran over him again.“More,” he breathed. “Touch memore.”
Unexpected tears bloomed in Maggie’s eyes atthe hoarseness of his voice. She sensed he was showing a side ofhimself he never revealed to anyone and that he needed her morethan she’d ever realized.
With her hands, she learned every flex ofthe muscles in his back and felt the faint scars crisscrossing hisflesh. She sensed those scars were part of what drove him, part ofwhy he craved her touch more than her blood right now. His raggedbreath warmed her flesh, his fangs abraded her neck, but he didn’tbite. She kissed his throat and ran her hands down to grip his firmass as a growing sense of possessiveness for him grew withinher.
“Aiden,” she breathed, and his fangs piercedher neck.
Maggie cried out as her nails raked hisflesh. Everything in her became centered on him as endless waves ofpleasure crashed over her.
Aiden drew her blood until it coursedthrough his body and doused his hunger as she climaxed again. Themuscles of her sheath gripped him, milking his seed from him.Thrusting into her again, he growled against her throat as he cameinside her, something he’d never done with a woman before. Hisorgasm went on with every pull of her blood until he had towithdraw his fangs or risk hurting her.
Never in his life had he come as hard as hehad inside of Maggie, and he wanted more of her.
Maggie smiled lazily at him before closingher eyes. “I don’t think I’ll have to go for a run tonight tosleep.”
Aiden laughed and held her closer.
CHAPTER 32
Maggie woke the next morning to Aiden’s lipsmoving over her neck. She sighed, stretching as he rolled her ontoher stomach. His hands and mouth moved over her flesh, kneading hermuscles before nudging her legs further apart. Maggie was more thanready for him when he entered her.
Rising over her, Aiden’s chest brushed herback as he clasped her hands and held them while he moved withinher. He didn’t keep her hands because he didn’t want her to touchhim, but because he needed the contact with her. She cried out, herfingers clenched on his when he brought her to release. Plunginginto her once more, Aiden shuddered as he came with the sameintensity he had the three times he’d taken her last night.
Lowering his head, he kissed his marks onher shoulder. It was too soon to take her blood again, but thepulse of it called to him. Rolling to the side, he drew her intohis arms. Her lush breasts pressed against his flesh as he settledher on his chest.
When he glanced at the clock, he realizedlast night was the first time he’d slept more than a few hours atonce in a couple of years. With Maggie by his side, he’d slept fornearly eight hours, a feat he would have believed impossibleyesterday.
She lifted her head to gaze down at him.Against the white sheets, her hair was a vibrant red curtain. Hercharcoal eyes shone with amusement, and the flush in her cheeks wasirresistible. He found his finger tracing the contours of her nosebefore dipping down to the curve of her upper lip.
His finger had a mind of its own as hecouldn’t stop touching her, and he knew he’d never get enough ofthis woman. He just had to convince her he was worth becoming avampire for.
“Good morning,” he said and lifted his headto nibble on her lip.
“Good morning.” She smiled at him when hekissed the tip of her nose. “That was a better wake-up than coffee, but don’t think that means you’re getting out of buying me coffee.I can be a little unbearable in the morning without caffeine.”
He chuckled as he cupped her nape andcaressed her cheek with his thumb. “I don’t believe it.”
“Oh, believe it,” she replied. “I got by onthis hotel stuff yesterday, but I need some Dunkin’ if I’m going tocontinue to stay with you, Nosferatu. Plus, I’ll be much moreenergized for the rest of the day.” She winked at him as she ranher hand over his chest.
“Then I will buy you a coffee factory.”
She laughed. “I should probably go for a runtoo if I’m going to be ready for the marathon next month.”
“I will take you for a run and get you somecoffee.”
“Good man.”
She kissed his nose and threw back thecovers as she sat up on the bed. She felt like leaping to her feetand laughing while spinning in circles. It took her a minute tofind the right word to describe her emotions, as they were allinadequate. Then, she realized exactly what she was, elated.
She’d never been this happy before, whichmade no sense to her. Her entire life was in upheaval, yet sheunderstood what people meant when they said they were walking onclouds. And her cloud walking was from more than having had thebest sex of her life last night and today; it was also Aiden.
