The rock and roll of her hips met my thrusts head-on, theboom-boomof the music masking the sounds of her wet body slapping against mine.

“Oh,God,Lucas,” she breathed out. “Please, I needmore.”

My finger found her clit, massaging it, rubbing it as she rode my cock harder, faster.

“Come, baby,” I said, my voice demanding and gruff, her so-good pussy morphing me into a sex-crazed alpha every single time. “You know I need you to come.”

Her pussy gripped my cock, squeezing it as she quaked against me, the pulsing sensation taking me right there with her, the orgasm streaming through me like a bolt of lightning.

Christ, how we must have looked in that limo, my pants and boxers pooled around my ankles, her straddling me in nothing but high heels, the two of us panting, bodies glistening with sex.

I helped her off me and she moved around to face me, gaze still swimming with lust.

She kissed me, tender, sweet as her palms cupped my face. “I’m proud to be yours, Lucas Stone, honored to be your future wife.” Her eyes were misty with tears that I wasn’t sure I’d caused to fall. “No matter what, I’ll always be by your side, cheering you on.”

I held her tight, planting light kisses on her forehead. “Me too, baby. Me too.”

Sometimes, when parents give you advice, it doesn’t sink in, until you’re living the moment.

If she has career dreams, encourage her to pursue them. Your mom put her career dreams on hold while I was out there on the gridiron living mine. Sure, she seemed happy standing by my side, but I’ve always wondered if she would have been even happier doing what her heart desired sooner rather than later.

It’s what Dad told me the night before Macy and I left for New York—his heart-to-heart advice to me while Macy and Mom were busy cleaning the kitchen.

Little did I know, his advice would sound in my head like an ambulance two weeks later.

It was two days after the Welcome Ball. I’d gone to AJ’s house to pick him up for a workout regimen we’d agreed to do with a bunch of other rookie players. With training camp only a week away, we all wanted to condition our bodies for what was to come.

“You ready to go, Bro?” I stood in the foyer of AJ’s house at 9 a.m. as planned.

“Yeah…” He scratched his head. “But Sage is bitching about me not leaving until I eat the breakfast she made.”

I chuckled. “You’re a pussy.”

Inside his kitchen, Sage greeted me with a smile. “Hey, next time bring Macy so we can hang out while you two monsters work out.”

I parked myself onto the stool at their breakfast bar, admiring the farm-style decor. Their home was pretty cool, something to raise a kid or two in, something that had future written all over the seven thousand or so square feet of space.

AJ sat next to me, digging into the plate of food Sage prepared for him, licking his fingers like a savage.

“I’ll bring her next time,” I told Sage. “Today she was too busy applying for an internship with a few, local, small-scaled magazines.”

Sage shook her head as she slid a plate of food over to me. “So, she’s decided not to acceptCosmo’soffer? That sucks considering she lost out on that badass opportunity to work forHot Shot, too.”

“Wait. What do you mean?” I pushed the plate over, curious about what Sage was babbling on about.

“Remember last year when we all came to New York for that week-long interview?”

I nodded.

“Well, Macy was offered a full-time job. I don’t recall the details, but it had something to do with her blog. Only she wasn’t able to fulfill the last part of her interview assignment because she took off back to Los Angeles when you collapsed on the field with that concussion.”

Pain raked my chest as I forced myself to remember what Macy said when I’d asked her if she’d been able to complete that last assignment during the interview—albeit she failed to mention the job offer altogether.

Yep, was all she said, before changing the subject.

Fuck.

“And what about thisCosmooffer?”
