"Not a god. The Celestials," Auren said, and she felt his lipsmoveagainst her. "And me."

She lifted her head to look down at him between her thighs. She lost all her confidence. And where she lost it, he had found it. Because the male between her legs was not the Soul Searchershe knew. He was like some graceful predator, using all of his immortal, honed strength to fixate on his next prey: her.

Sensation came in snapshots.

Him, rolling down her shorts, leaving her in only her panties. His fingers toying with the elastic hugging her hipbones. His lips following the path they made. His nose pressing hesitantly to the wet material clinging to her heat. The sounds he made as he breathed her in.

Cool air rushed over her bare center as he removed her panties.

She covered her eyes.

"Your Soul is mine. Nothing about you can be hidden from me, Vesperin."

She shook her head, feeling his breaththere.

Then his fingers. Gentle at first. She was used to being touched there, but never by Auren—not his slow, teasing, almost torturous brushes. As if he wanted to punish her for refusing to look at him.

"Uncover your eyes," came his voice.

Rin let her hand drop to her side. She panted as she stared up at the ceiling, the twisting shadows cast from the firelight.

"You still want this from me?" Auren’s voice held a fragile note.

"Yes… but only if you beg me." She would commit to the role she’d forged between them.

"I will always beg you. With words." His fingers teased the juncture of her thigh. "With touch. Let me taste my Soulbond. You have kept me waiting for so long."

With that, he kissed her between her legs, and she was undone.

Auren’s mouth moved slowly, betraying his lack of experience, but just like kissing her mouth, he paid attention to every hitch of her breath and the stuttering of her pulse, using itto know when to repeat an action, when to deepen it, or when to change pace.

She’d never felt anything like it. As her back arched off the couch and her fingers tangled in his hair, desperate for an anchor, she felt her eyes prick with tears at the rush of sensation.

She gasped his name in repeated cries as she shattered on his tongue.

Auren hummed against her, and she felt the vibrations rippling through her trembling core.

Her breathing was so loud.

He pressed one last kiss to her center, lingering, before gently lying atop her again. His lips shone. His eyes were such a vibrant blue as he stared down into hers.

"Was I… good for you?"

Rin leaned up, pressing her lips to his. He tasted sweet. "Yes."

"It was not enough. Please. I need to—" Auren broke off. Again. As if words died on his lips.

She cupped his jaw. "Use me, Auren. Take from me. If you cannot tell me, forget with me,inme."

He nodded roughly, then removed her shirt, leaving her nude beneath him, while he was still clothed. She felt like something to be taken, used, yet he treasured her. She felt it in each touch.

His nostrils flared, light hair falling over his brow. She reached up and pushed it back, wanting nothing to obscure his face from her. He leaned into her touch, eyes traveling down her heaving breasts and pink nipples, to her flat stomach, then between her parted thighs. She kept them open.

"Beautiful. You are beautiful, Vesperin Vox. I am honored to be your Soulbond."

He pushed himself off her, sitting back to tug his shirt off. He folded it neatly and placed it on the floor. She huffed, but all her amusement died as he reached for the waistband of his pants.

"Forgive me if I am not what you wanted. I do not know?—"
