And then headed out, leaving him alone with Callen. When he was gone, Ethan just stood there.
Uh-oh.
That was oddly timed possessiveness. Ethan was hoping that was just normal Gene behavior, and he hadn’t overheard what his brother had said to him.
Now, Ethan had to get this done so he could make sure Gene wasn’t running around naked himself.
So, he began undressing his brother.
Well, just taking his boots off.
In this situation, the more clothes between them, the better.
As he got him situated in bed, he grabbed the hotel notepad and left him a note.
‘I’m across the hall with Gene. DO NOT LEAVE THE HOTEL. Puke in the bathroom, not on the floor. I’ll stop in before I head out to work. Water on the nightstand. Drink it. You pickled your liver.
Love you.
EJ.’
He placed it down, and turned down the lights, leaving the bathroom on so Callen could see something if he woke up disoriented.
The last thing he needed was a drunk Native raising hell in a hotel because he was confused.
Closing the door, he took the spare key and went into the room he and Gene were sharing.
His man was already in bed, passed out. He’d gotten out of his shirt, but not his pants and shoes.
So, Ethan undressed him too.
There was an awful lot of men getting naked without any of the fun normally associated with it.
He was a little bummed that his man was passed out. Ethan wanted to cuddle and find some comfort in his man’s body. Tonight had been a rough one.
Well, that was out of the question. He wasn’t going to use Gene’s prone body for his own enjoyment.
He wasn’t Kaya Cheek.
Instead, he tried to get his man into position buy rolling him over in the bed. It woke Gene up long enough for him to lecherously pat the bed beside him and wiggle his eyebrows.
Yeah, that wouldn’t happen.
He’d bet on it.
“Sure, if you can stay awake.”
Only, Gene didn’t.
Instead, he went to sleep in three point two seconds. Yeah, he wasn’t going to be having sex with those pain pills onboard.
That was for sure.
Stripping down, he climbed into bed and closed his eyes.
It had been one hell of a day.
Now, Ethan had to hope that tomorrow was better—when it came to the killer.
