“Eyes up here, Inky,” I said before I even thought.
Carmen’s mouth dropped open and Nico’s eyes flew up to mine. “Inky?” he asked.
“You know. All the tatts,” I said.
He gave me a bemused look, and one corner of his mouth turned up. “What if I said I got a new tattoo every time I killed a man?”
“I’d say you’re full of shit.”
He laughed then, the sound rough as if it didn’t happenvery often. “Full of shit, huh?” He reached out and smoothly snaked his hand around my waist. He pulled me over to him effortlessly. “Sit here,” he instructed, and before I knew it, I was sitting on one of Nico’s large, heavily muscled thighs. It was covered in a bespoke suit, of course, and I did my best not to inhale too much of his intoxicating scent. I didn’t want to blow this interview, even if it was the strangest one I’d ever had.
Everyone was quiet for a moment, staring at me and Nico. I just stared back and tried to act like it was the most normal thing in the world. Meanwhile, Nico’s large hand was spreading over my abdomen, his thumb shamelessly running over the bottom of my breast.
I bit my lip, realizing I might have screwed up royally. God, what if he fired me for giving him that nickname? I really needed this job.
I saw his eyes track my mouth, and then he smiled. It was devastating. It lit up his whole handsome face, and I saw that his siblings were surprised. “Baby, I’m not entirely sure of how I feel about that nickname. Why don’t you make it up to me?”
Oh, Jesus. What was he going to have me do? Suck him off at the table while everyone watched? I would die of embarrassment.
His eyes scanned over me lazily, and he ran a tattooed finger over the mounds of my breasts. Then he brought his eyes to mine. “I’m going to call for a try-out,” he said. I couldn’t tell if he was talking to me or Carmen.
“A try-out? But you all liked her.”
Nico looked sharply at his sister. “And I’m going to need to have some alone time with her to make up my mind. Is that a problem?”
Carmen’s face looked like a storm cloud. “I know what you’re doing, asshole, and it won’t work…”
“It’s his birthday, Carmen,” Javy said quietly.
“Oh, for gosh sakes,” Carmen said. She turned to me. “Ray Ann, Nico would like to spend some private time with you in one of the VIP rooms. Is that something you’rewilling to do? Your job isn’t contingent on what you say.”
Before I could answer, Nico grabbed my hand. “Ray Ann, I’m not sure my drink is what it should be, either. Can you help me figure it out?”
I was confused by exactly what was going on, but I played along. I twirled my finger in his glass and was about to bring it up to my mouth, when he intercepted it. He put my finger in his mouth and sucked it, rolling his tongue around it in ways that had me clinching my thighs together.
“That’s good. I think it just needed a little something sweet to make it like I wanted it.” He paused for a beat, his eyes locked on mine. “So, what do you say? Can I take you somewhere private and get to know you better?”
I flicked my eyes to Carmen. “It’s up to you, Ray Ann.”
I turned back to him, thinking about how long it had been since I’d had sex. “Sure,” I said in a low sultry tone. I didn’t even mean to sound like that, it was just how it came out.
“Damn,” Joaquin said. “Looking for company?” he asked Nico.
Nico looked at him for a moment as if considering. “Nah. I think the two of us will be so busy getting to know each other, there won’t be room for anyone else.”
Joaquin made a face and threw his napkin down on the table. “Let’s hit Cayenne, Leo.”
Cayenne was the Salazar’s infamous sex club. Carmen had informed me that employees of Sugar weren’t allowed in Cayenne except for very special situations. She said all the members would only want to fuck the girls from Sugar instead of other members.
“Ray Ann?” Nico stood and took my hand. “Follow me.”
CHAPTER FOUR
Jelly
I didn’t speak as Nico pushed open the door to a luxurious, empty room. I wasn’t sure exactly what was about to happen in here, and I was going to let him take the lead. I assumed he wanted sex of some sort, but I didn’t know what.
And I wasn’t going to make the first move.
