It clicked all at once.
Sarang could control qi. He must be using the connection between them to filter out the drug from Shiloh’s system. He had no clue how that worked exactly, but he wasn’t about to get hung up on the details.
“Fine,” Diogenes growled a moment later, his anger palpable. “Once you’re mine, you’ll see for yourself how little he meant.”
Dio buried his teeth into the crook of Shiloh’s neck and slammed his cock into him.
“Now!” Sarang yelled almost at the same time, and Shiloh reacted to his alpha without hesitation.
Using all of the strength he could muster, he shoved, twisting them on the bed so that he was now straddling Dio. He sat up, tearing teeth from his neck, blood spurting down his chest and over Dio.
The gun clattered to the ground, just out of reach, but Sarang called out to him again and tossed the dagger he’d been holding with ease.
Shiloh’s hand reached up, catching the handle of the weapon. He pulled himself halfway off the offending member still invading his body, not bothering to fully remove it, and then slashed.
The blade went through Dio’s penis at the root, severing it from the rest of him. It caught the side of Shiloh’s inner thigh as well, but he hardly felt the pain, too focused on the way Dio screamed and writhed beneath him, blood gushing from the gaping hole where his cock used to be.
He tossed the knife aside and then pulled himself forward, still struggling to control his limbs, but able to gain enough access to reach down and yank the pouch of marbles from the pants that’d been discarded and left next to them. Using his weight, he kept Dio pinned, then opened the drawstring with his teeth.
There was no need to pry Dio’s mouth open since the guy hadn’t stopped wailing like a little bitch since Shiloh had given him the penectomy.
“You’re wrong,” Shiloh declared. “I can love. And since you want my love so badly, here.” He emptied the entire content of marbles down Dios’ throat and then slammed a palm over his mouth and nose, cutting off oxygen. “Choke on it.”
He regained strength in his thighs and pressed down when Dio tried bucking him, too focused on watching the terror and tears in the other man’s eyes to notice when Sarang reached them.
His alpha picked up the knife and then dragged it across Dio’s throat, cutting almost an inch deep through tendon and muscle.
Marbles and gore burst out, but Shiloh only got a moment to watch before he was hauled up and away from Dio’s dying form.
“Get out!” Sarang commanded, and it took Shiloh a second to realize he was talking to Tull, Bishop, and one other soldier who’d also witnessed the whole humiliating show.
He’d forgotten all about the severed, wilted penis still inside of him, yelping when Sarang pulled it out and threw it over the side of the building, even as he carried Shiloh to it and then shoved him against the stone parapet.
Sarang lifted him partially over it, so his ass was in the air, Shiloh’s head dangled partially over the edge. Below, hovercarszipped on the streets. He seemed to catch himself then, freezing with his hands holding Shiloh by the waist.
“Are you all right?” he asked, the sound gravely, as though it was taking all of his willpower to ask the question and not just keep doing what he’d clearly been about to do.
In response, Shiloh let out a wave of his suggestive omega pheromones. “Do me a favor, and erase him from my memory, Rang.”
That was all the incentive his alpha needed.
Chapter 29:
Sarang stared at the teeth marks in Shiloh’s neck as he fucked him, self-hatred blooming in his gut the longer he looked.
If he’d only been quicker…If he’d never locked Shiloh up in the first place…
It’d taken them far too long to fight their way out of Taboo. Healing that Gray female had taken it out of him, and he’d struggled to recover. Diogenes had been working hard, gathering his hidden forces for long enough to be able to send thirty of them after Sarang. They’d lost one or two of their own soldiers in the process, and Tull had suffered from a broken arm, but they’d gotten through, called for backup, and rushed here as fast as they could.
Thanks to the life-bond that was still strong and pulsing between Sarang and Shiloh.
He’d followed the trail here, preparing to find something horrible, but even his darkest thoughts hadn’t been able to think up what he’d witnessed.
Sarang had always hated Diogenes and his obvious feelings for Shiloh, but he’d trusted him. At least, he’d trusted that Dio would never betray the prince. Clearly, Shiloh had believed the same, otherwise Dio never would have gotten close enough to slip him whatever drug he’d managed to get into his system.
The life-bond had recognized the weakness and started to feed off it almost as soon as Sarang had run through the door. If they hadn’t been connected through it, it would have taken twice as long for him to clear Shiloh’s system, too long to make a difference.
And his omega would belong to someone else now.
