“Good morning, Ms. Morozov, I hope you slept well. Your hair stylist is here, should I send her up to your room?”
I raise an eyebrow as I respond.
“Yes, please.”
I lower the phone down, hanging up before I head over to my silk black robe on the bed. I throw it over myself before tying it around my waist and when there is a knock on the door, I stride toward it. As soon as I open the door, a young blonde woman lifts her head and when our eyes connect, I instantly recognize her. Her piercing blue eyes scan my features, then they widen.
“Charley?”
I lift my chin before rolling my eyes and just as I almost slam the door in her face, her hand stops it.
“Wait!”
My teeth grind down as I face aside.
“I haven’t seen you in months. Since—”
My dark eyes flash to hers in an instant.
“Since the amusement park?”
She nods, the shock on her face obvious.
“I thought you left New York after Chaos—”
“Died?”
When I finish her sentence once again, she nods, and I straighten my back.
“I am here for Lucy and Cody’s wedding.”
She nods a couple of times as if she knows exactly what I am talking about, her eyes scanning down me.
“I mean—”
“Look, if it's easier to just stay away from me then I’ll pay you for your time and you can just go home.”
Lana arches a brow at my bitter accusation, then shakes her head.
“No one has the authority to tell me what to do, Charley. I am here to do my job.”
I cock my head to the side and narrow my eyes.
“And your best friend Callie, Reign’s cousin? She won’t have an issue with that?”
“I’m not sure what you mean, but Callie has no issue with you and neither do I.”
My jaw tenses and I look away, realizing she must not know the full extent of everything.
“I would love to do your hair, its beau—”
She reaches out to a few strands, and I back away from her touch.
“Let's get this done, shall we? I am running out of time.”
She nods as I step aside, finally allowing her to enter since I have little choice because I am shit at styling my long hair. Once she is fully inside, I close the door and head toward the beautiful, sparkling vanity in the far corner of the room, hearing a gasp pulling from her lips.
“Wow, this room and view are beautiful.”
