“That’s more like it,” Malakai chuckled low and did it again, but this time he pushed two fingers into me at the same time.

My legs trembled and my hand tightened over my mouth, muffling my sounds. His eyes slid to mine and red threads escaped from him, gripping my wrist and tearing it away from my mouth as he locked it against the trunk again.

“How am I supposed to hear your beautiful voice if you’re sealing it inside?” His eyes glowed accusingly at me.

“But—”

I felt his teeth grazing against my clit.

“Malakai!” I jolted in reaction.

“That’s better,” he hummed pleased. “Such a good girl.”

The praise made me clench around his fingers, and a groan slipped from his lips.

His fingers curled against my inner wall and I trembled in delight.

He picked up the speed, consuming my senses with his precise strokes. It didn’t take long for him to have me meltingat his touch, and only then did he release my hand from his magic.

My legs trembled with the thrilling throb of the waves. I placed my hands on each side of his shoulders, pushing him backwards. He chuckled, playing along as I lowered myself on top of him. My hand slid along his abdomen, feeling every curve, traveling up his chest as I closed the distance between us.

“If only you could see your face right now,” he said, voice low, fingertips tracing my cheek. “It’s the kind of look that would make me walk through an army of demons. The kind of face that keeps me breathing, makes me destroy everything that dares touch you.”

My breath trembled. “What face am I making?”

A smile, dark and tender, curved his lips. “The one that says you’d choose me even if the world burned for it.”

Without thinking, I leaned closer, straddling him. His hands slid to my hips, grounding me, pulling me into the gravity of him.

“Mm,” I hummed, I tilted my head, placing my forehead against his. “I’d burn through everything standing between us. If anything happened to you, I’d become the hellfire itselfbecause no one is allowed to harm you, Malakai.” I lowered my voice. “You’remydemon.”

His eyes widened, then darkened, something ancient flickering there. The air thickened, pulsing between us.

“Say it again,” he rasped, voice trembling on the edge of control.

I leaned back, tension building as his eyes gave away his impatience. I stroked my fingers along his cheek. “Mine.”

At that word, his red threads spread out, weaving through the air, wrapping us in living heat. They pulsed with everyheartbeat, every breath, tracing around my body. He stretched after me, eyes burning, half-lidded.

“Let’s promise,” Malakai murmured, his lips ghosting over mine.

“What?” I asked against his.

“That I’m yours, and you’re mine. If you fall, I’ll be your strength. If your heart stops, mine will carry it.”

I smiled faintly, brushing a thumb along his jaw towards the back of his neck. “And what do you want in return?”

His gaze softened, then sharpened, dangerous and sincere. “That you’ll never run from me, and if I ever become something you can’t save… you’ll end me with your own hands.”

The words hung between us, heavy and sacred.

“I’ll never let it come to that,” I whispered.

“I know,” he said, kissing me again. “That’s why you’re the only one who could.”

He brushed his lips down to my neck.

“Now,” he lowered his voice. “I’ve let you play for long enough.” His hands tightened on my hips as he pushed against me, spinning us around until I was pinned beneath him. His hand stroked gently along my side, hooking my leg around him. I arched my hips towards him, but he shifted, denying me.
