Frustration spread as I sucked in my lower lip, taking my feelings out on it instead.
“Greedy kitten,” he mocked.
Malakai’s hand caressed my thigh before sinking his teeth into my shoulder. I shuddered, digging my fingers into his back. He eased the pain by kissing the mark. His free hand slid to the back of my neck as his hungry lips found mine. I tensed, thinking he’d taste blood, but it had already steamed, becoming a part of him.
He deepened the kiss, a groan rumbling in his throat. His mouth devoured mine, I felt his hips shifting, his length finding my core and without waiting a second longer he thrust inside. I moaned into his mouth, and he swallowed it, growing desperate for more.
He kept a fierce pace, pressing into me again, and again, and again, stretching me with each thrust. My body was ablaze, clenching around him like the world would cease to exist if I didn’t.
“Fuck, you’re divine,” he finally managed through ragged breaths. “I don’t pray… But for you, I’ll get on my knees and worship.”
“Maybe you should start praying, then,” I whispered teasingly to him. “Show me how devotion looks on you.” Whatever remaining control he had, snapped.
His lips were on mine again, denying me air, and he picked up his pace as he heaved my thighs up, carving into me at an angle that made him reach even deeper.
My legs trembled in his hold with every movement and a slow maddening smirk spread on his lips.
“Sweetie,” he whispered against my lips. “If you keep shaking like that, I’ll forget how to be gentle.”
This was gentle!?
He noticed how my eyes widened, and he chuckled as he sucked my lower lip between his own, nibbling on it. Slowly, his eyes sparkled brighter, crimson scarlet captivating me as he thrust into me hard.
I felt as if my world was spinning, and he was the center of it.
The knot that had rebuilt in my stomach came undone along with his name leaving my lips. The exquisite pleasure soared throughout my body as I came apart below him.
His eyes were locked on me, taking in everything, and I blushed.
I felt seen. I felt loved.
Because he couldn’t get enough; no matter what expression I made, what I said or did, or what sound slipped, he wanted all of it and still hungered for more.
He chased his own release, biting down on my shoulder one last time to avoid roaring loudly.
And once again, the world went silent around us, as if holding its breath to watchour next move.
CHAPTER
22
My legs still felt unsteady, though whether from the cold water orhim, I wasn’t willing to examine too closely. Malakai walked beside me with a satisfied look that made heat crawl up the back of my neck all over again.
It was probably afternoon already, the obscured light making it hard to decipher in the Demon Lands. The air felt cool and there was a soft silence around us, it should have felt peaceful.
It didn’t.
Not when Nate was still half-dead on the shore.
I quickened my steps. “Stop smirking.”
“I’m not smirking,” Malakai said, absolutely smirking. “You’re just very cute when you try to walk like nothing happened.”
I punched his shoulder, weaker than intended. His answering chuckle didn’t help my frustration.
The camp came into view—well, the attempts of a camp at least. They had scattered bedrolls and food cans all over the place, it was as chaotic as Ashley’s attempt at guard duty.
She was sitting cross-legged beside Nate, tapping one foot like the drumming of a woodpecker, while staring everywhereexcept for Nate’s unconscious face. Jaden lounged nearby, tossing little rocks into the air with flickers of earth magic just to irritate her.
