“Ha! I knew it. Ash owes me…” she trails, and based on the smirk alone, I don’t want to know what he owes her. I glare at her, and she grunts. “Fine, I won’t tell him. But I could tell that something was going on with you two.”

“How?”

“I had a feeling when we left you two there alone something would happen, but you guys needed it.”

“Why do you say that?”

“Because I’ve always been on the side of you two.”

“I know, I’m not really sure why though.” She laughs, looking back at me.

“How the two of you look at one another. The How have always looked at one another. You can’t fake that.”

Walking into the house, Remy is sitting on the couch with the TV on, but she’s just staring at the ceiling. When she hears the door open and shut, she just starts shouting.

“I mean, seriously? This entire time. He let me think he was fucking dead and all along… he’s very much alive.”

“Rem, don’t you think you should talk to him… let him explain.”

“No,” she sits up, looking at us. “He can fuck, right the hell, off.”

“Come on, Rem.” Caroline and I both say as we walk up to the couch and I sit down on the coffee table in front of her, Caroline forces her to move her legs over when she sits down as well.

“Don’t you think you should at least talk to him?”

“No, I think I should make him squirm.” She moves her arm, balling up her fist as she stares at it, and it makes me laugh a little as I look down.

“He’s still your husband…” Remy stares at the ceiling for a little while longer before she groans, realizing that Caroline will not go anywhere until she gets up.

“Fine.” She stands up and looks at us. “I’m not promising that I won’t hit him again.” She tells us, causing me to laugh.

“I would expect nothing less.” Caroline nods as we walk back out to the golf cart and head back up to the clubhouse.

Ash and I sit with Ace as he just shakes his head. “She’s so fucking mad at me.”

“She’ll get over it.” Ash tells him and it makes me laugh, thinking back to what Caroline told me the day that he got out of the hospital.

“I dunno, man. The whole situation is fucked.”

“It may be, but you could forgive her. I think she’ll be able to forgive you.” Ash starts and he just nods his head as Jag rushes up to me.

“Daddy!” He shouts as he almost rushes into me. Looking down at him as he pants, out of breath, “Can we go outside and play.”

“Yeah,” I nod to him and move outside with him.

Ash walks out the door right after I do. The boys run after each other as the girls pull up on the golf cart. Ella glances over at me as she walks over and then hesitates before she turns and walks back towards the door.

“Everything okay, there?” Ash asks me, causing me to laugh as I just turn away and shake my head.

“Yeah,” I mumble to him before I look back to where the boys are playing. He laughs as he looks away, and I glance back to him. “What?”

“Ya fucked her.” He laughs again, quietly, so a repeat of the first night they were here doesn’t happen. I don’t respond to what he says. I just continue to look at him and then back to the boys. I can hear him laugh again, but I refuse to look over. “I will take that as a yes. Shit, I need to stop making bets with Care.” He mumbles under his breath.

“What?” I can’t help but laugh out as I look back over to him.

“We may have made a bet when we were heading back up here, when we left the two of you there…” I nod my head.

“And what was the bet?”
