The club is all he has.
“Yeah, I get it.” I say under my breath, solidifying my plan instantly. “I just wanted to make sure your leg was okay.” I give a half ass excuse.
“Thank you, El.” He tells me and I can see the pain in his eyes.
“I’ll go.” I whisper out before I stand and walk back inside and out to my car. Stopping right before I walk back into the house, I glance back. “Goodbye, Axe.”

When I turn onto the freeway, I completely check out of what is happening around me. Trees pass me and even as I drive through LA, the traffic doesn’t even bother me.
I’m completely numb to everything.
Everything left in me is in a void.
