“Never?” I laugh out and he shakes his head.
“No, and you know that you wouldn’t ever do that because that’s taking away from him.”
“You’re right.” I murmur, but roll my eyes.
“I know.” It makes me laugh out before I get out of the car and Linc smiles at me.
Linc clutches onto Ro as they walk, the way that they have managed to instantly bond with one another is absolutely incredible and just further tells me that I’m right where I should be.
“Sadie,” I hear Ella call from behind me as we move closer to the house, and I instantly start to panic. This wasn’t our plan we had decided on how to break the news to Ella. I was going to tell her when it was just her and I, giving her time to come to terms with it, without being in front of everyone. Then once she’s cooled down telling her that he’s here and having her meeting him.
Shit.Ro’s shoulders tighten, he starts to move away before Axe calls out to him and he stops. Turning halfway around, trying to conceal Linc, but I hear Ella gasp and I know that she sees him.
“You have a kid, too?” She sounds excited and I slowly nod my head. “Why didn’t you say something before?” I’m sure she’s looking between Ro and Linc, in his arms, trying to decide if he’s Ro’s or not. “What is he, like 2?” She pauses.
“Yeah.” I nod my head. I can see her eyes as she looks at Linc, with confusion on her face.
“How long have you guys been together?” She asks me, as if she’s interrogating me, and I know that she’s starting to put the pieces together
Ella and I were extremely close, maybe too close for some people, but it means that even after this time I know what she’s thinking… and she’s on to me.
And I know, solely based on her eyes as those pieces fall into place, there’s no way in fucking hell that this is going to end well.
“Axe!” She snaps looking over at him. I make eye contact with Ro who nods his head as he carries Linc into the house.
“Ella.” I call to her, she looks over with the rage in her eyes and I know what she’s thinking. She’s imagining that I betrayed her in the only way that could be even more of a betrayal than what I actually did.. that I had slept with Axe. Slowly, I shake my head. “I would never…” I trail my sentence and she looks even more confused.
“Then please, fucking explain to me why he looks so much like Jag 2 years ago?” She snaps at me, and I just look down, nervously biting the inside of my mouth before I look back up at her. “What other fucking way…” I watch as the final pieces fall into place and recognition spreads through her eyes, they widen quickly, and she shouts. “You fucking bitch.” She gasps out.
My face throbs as I’m knocked backwards, and I hear her yelling at me. She’s instantly on top of me as she continuously lands fists on me.
“Oh, shit.” I barely hear Axe call out.
“Stop fucking hitting me.” I scream at her.
“No, it’s what you get.” She punches me again and I wince before I reach up gripping a large chunk of her hair and pulling it backwards hoping that it will be just enough to get her to ease up, but I just end up with a small chuck of hair in my hands.
I shouldn’t be surprised that the daughter of an MC president can fight like she can or will willingly let me pull out hair than to stop hitting me.
“Just let me explain.” I shout back, hoping that she’ll hesitate enough so I can get an upper hand on her.
“There’s nothing to explain! You’re still just a goddamn slut.” She screams at me before Axe pulls her away and I’m being lifted off of the ground.
“What the fuck, Ella?” Axe shouts at her as he looks down, trying to calm her down and I’m sure being confused this time at why it isn’t working.
“What?” She yells back at him before she turns and looks at me. Ro turns me, checking my face. “You fucked my dad?” Ella screams at me. Ro’s hands fall from my face.
Ro’s eyes widen as he looks at me. I turn to look at her, and Axe’s face is shocked, as well, staring at me with the same wide eyes as Care looked at me with weeks ago.
“No,” She screams again before a sarcastic laugh erupts, “scratch that. You had a fucking kid with my dad?” She screams again. “Get off of me.” She shouts at Axe as she tries to shove his arms off of her, but he holds on to her tighter.
“I’ll let you go,” He says patiently to her, “if you calm down and promise not to hit her again.” She looks over at him, and he raises his hand, cupping her cheek. His voice is so low that I can barely hear what it is he’s saying. “You know that everything isn’t always as it seems. You’re doing exactly to her what everyone did to us. That’s part of why we lost so much time.” She sighs, nodding to him. Their exchange would normally make me smile, if I wasn’t hoping she doesn’t punch me again.
“Tell her.” Ro says to me, and I nod my head. I can see him nod to Axe to follow him to the side. Ella’s free from the arms holding on to her and she looks at me as I start to move towards her.
“No.” She shakes her head, holding up her hands, telling me to not come closer. “Did he know?”
“No.” I shake my head, but I see her eyes darkening in anger. A shaky breath comes out as I confess my sins to who was once my best friend.
