Moving towards the gate, it starts to open as we get close, and I slide through before it closes behind us. Coasting into the spot, I stand up, and let her use my shoulders to push herself off of the bike. Then I kick over as well, taking my helmet from her, and nodding towards the clubhouse. Reaching into the saddlebag, I grab out the bag holding the money as I walk with her into the house.
“Is this a church?” She asks for the first time actually seeing a hint of a smile.
“At one time it was.” She laughs slightly at my answer, shaking her head.
“That’s kind of fucked, you know?”
“It is what it is.” I shrug as I show her in the direction of the extra room. “You can stay in here until they retaliate.” She nods her head as she moves into the room, looking around.
“That means you think they will?” She asks me, concern lining her face.
“There’s no thinking. I know they will.”
“How do you know?”
“Because it’s what I would do. I can get someone to bring you some clothes over if you need more.”
“Thank you.” She says, quietly, looking over at me and then she struts over to me. As she gets closer, she continues to stare up at me. “You never told me your name.”
“Ro.” I clear my throat as I say it, and I try to push the image of her standing up in front of me naked out of my head.
“Ro.” She whispers out as if she’s seeing how it rolls off of her tongue and maybe a hint of recognition to it. I’m not sure why I hope that she’s heard of me. “And you’re the Prez here?”
“I am.” I know that I’m currently playing with fire. I know I need to put distance between the two of us, but I can’t force myself to move back, just yet.
“And where exactly are we.”
“The clubhouse.”
She rolls her eyes as she looks up at me again. “I know that. I mean whose clubhouse, like what club.”
“We just moved here. Well, we just formed.”
“That’s ballsy.” She tells me, her voice still lower than I really like for it to be. Although, I’m starting to think that’s just how her voice sounds. “Encroaching on their territory.”
“No.” I say to her, doing a bad job at concealing my anger. “This is my fucking territory.” She cocks her head to the side before she slowly nods.
“Ah, you’re Ro… Ronin.” She says in a playful tone. “You were the president at The Marauders before.”
“I was.” I nod my head to her again. Her hand makes contact with my chest, and I realize just how much I need to break this tension. Grabbing a hold of her wrist I pull it away from me and exhale. “Sadie, how old are you?”
“25.”
“Do me a favor.” I tell her, not really giving her a choice.
“What’s that?” She smirks as she glances down my body, and licks her lips. What is going on in this girl’s head? She starts to move down, to kneel on the ground in front of me. Dropping her wrist quickly I grip a hold of her shoulders and pull her up, completely standing her in front of me.
“No, fuck,” I shout as I turn my head slightly to the side. “I don’t want anything from you.” Her eyes sadden and I feel a little bad, but I make myself finish what I’m saying. “Let me rephrase, I don’t expect anything from you. You need help, we can help you. But take the time that you’re here and get your head straight. Get fucking clean. You too young and too goddamn beautiful to let the drugs take all of that from you. I’ve seen it happen too many times.”
“You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.” She snaps out at me pushing father away from me.Well, at least that definitely handled one issue. “I don’t have an issue with drugs. Fuck you!” She shoves me backwards before slamming the door in my face.
“Sure, Sadie.” I shout through the door at her. “That’s exactly how sober people act when accused of being an addict.” I know most likely she’s still standing directly on the other side of the door.

SADIE
Who the hell does he think he is? Trying to tell me what to do with my life. He has no clue about my damn life. I’m sure that he wouldn’t be able to handle it. Fuck him. Ugh.
