Gianna’s eyes shimmered, but her smile was steady. “That’s all I could ask for.”

Mama squeezed her hand lightly before pulling back. “Good,” she said with a small nod. “Now…since you done opened the door, we might have some questions later.”

Gianna laughed softly. “I wouldn’t expect anything less.”

Pops leaned back again, a faint smile on his face now. “Yeah…you'll fit just fine,” he muttered. "My daughter is going to love you. She always wanted a sister."

"Me too," Gianna replied.

I looked over at Gianna in awe and wonder. This feeling in my chest growing so big it felt like I would explode. I realized in that moment that Ididlove her.

Not falling anymore.

Ilovedthis woman.

We chatted for a little bit longer before I went up to get Melo.

At the door, Mama hugged Gianna warmly. "Me, you, and my daughter—let's do lunch, okay?"

Gianna agreed smiling. "I would love that."

They exchanged numbers while Pops looked over at me with that look of knowing. The same look he had when I brought Dri around. Once we left and I buckled my son in, I reached over and grabbed Gianna gently by her throat shocking her as I kissed her deeply.

When we finally pulled apart, she was breathing heavier. "Well damn," she chuckled.

"As soon as I put Melo in bed, I want you on my bed, spread eagle," I whispered against her lips. "I'm about to eat the shit outta your pussy."

She gasped lightly. "Then let's hurry up and get home." She kissed me.

Home. Notmyhome. Just…home.

This was happening.

Chapter 28

Iwas rudely awakened from a hot and heavy wet dream with Remy by Ronnie bursting in my room cursing and scaring the shit out of me. Sitting up in bed clutching my heart, I tried to focus my bleary eyes on her as she paced the room.

"GG, get up! Get up right now!" She paused on the side of my bed staring down at her phone.

"I'm up." I rubbed sleep out of eyes. "What the hell is wrong?" I stared at her.

"Look!" She shoved her phone in my face.

Leaning my head back to see the screen clearer, I frowned taking the phone from her hand. "What's this?" I stared at the screen with Siren's booking schedule for the week on it. Only instead of names, dates, and times for Ronnie, I was instead seeing the entire week blocked out in red.

"You see it?" Ronnie demanded. "My entire week and all my scheduled clients are gone!" she snapped.

Blinking, I scrolled down the phone. Nothing. All blocked off for a month.

"Did that bitch fire me?!" She threw up her hands. "Fucking coward, she could've at least called me like a woman and told me to my face," she ranted.

Shaking my head in confusion and still trying to awaken fully, I handed the phone back to Ronnie. "I'm sure this is a mistake. Or a glitch. The men love you. You're one of the highest earners."

"This is bullshit!" she gritted. "I promised my brother I would pay for his prom. And my mama needs me to pay for her medication and mortgage. My sister has some big out of the country school trip coming up." She let out a shaky breath. "This is my livelihood, GG."

"I know, baby—I know." I threw off my covers climbing out of bed. "Just relax. Let's call Madam and see what's going on." Gripping her wrist, I forced her to sit on the bed. Pulling my phone off the charger, I unlocked it. Curiously, I went to my bookings for the week. My eyes widened and my stomach sank when I saw the same shit—blocked for the month. "No. No. No." I shook my head, scrolling. "This can't be right."

Ronnie sprang up. "What?" She peered at my phone gasping when she saw it. "See! This that bullshit. How she just gon' play us like that with no explanation?"
