“I thought you were better than him,” Sophia growled just outside my door.

No, no, please no.We all froze, as though if we didn’t make any noise, they would just go away.

“No, I’m just busier.” Sebastian chuckled. “But since Zane kept watch last night, you’re stuck with me as your shadow for a few hours at least.”

“This is ridiculous.”

“Stop complaining, Sophia,” Zane said, his voice rough from sleep. “I’m trying to sleep. If you don’t stop shouting, we’re going to lock you in here with me, and you’ll just have to sit quietly while I sleep.”

“Seriously? You’re threatening to lock me in there with you?” Sophia demanded, her voice raising a few octaves. “Aren’t you worried I’ll suffocate you in your sleep with your pillow?”

“Can we kick them out already?” Merrick grumbled as he flopped back on the bed and buried his face in his hands.

“I wasn’t until now.” Zane stomped back to his room and slammed the door closed, apparently backtracking on his threats.

“Let’s go downstairs and get some breakfast,” Sebastian said as if he were coaxing a wild animal. “I promise you’ll barely even know I’m there.”

“Why do you have to sound so reasonable?” Sophia huffed, their footsteps retreating as she must have relented. “I don’t think I’m asking for much. Just leave me alone for five minutes.”

“I have to speak with her today.” I scrubbed a hand over my face. “Even if she doesn’t want to.” Because things couldn’t keep going on like this. Sophia was fiercely independent, but this was getting a little extreme, and I had no doubt that it had something to do with her abduction.

Kellan rubbed my shoulder, leaning in to kiss my collarbone before he reluctantly eased away. “We should speak with Francine this morning and see if she wants to come to the meeting with Lorenzo tonight.”

“She will.” Merrick rubbed his eyes, his longing gaze roving over me once more before he tugged me off Spade and onto his own lap.

“We should do some training today, little devil, because there’s no way I’m letting the three of you go out on your own.” He cocked a brow in challenge, like he knew I was going to argue. “I’m healed enough; besides, we need everyone right now.”

“You’re right,” I said, wrapping my arms around his neck and pressing my chest against his.

“You’re killing me.” His lips pressed against mine, but just as he was about to deepen it, the door slammed and Sebastian was shouting something unintelligible now.

“If you don’t talk to them, I will,” Spade said darkly, his eyes lighting with that violent spark I usually loved.

“You won’t.” I narrowed my gaze on him, but he only chuckled, grasping my chin as he sat up, his cock still straining against his boxers.

“I’d never hurt anyone you hold dear, sugar. The other two, however...” he trailed off, not needing to finish his sentence.

“We’ll get this sorted out,” Merrick said, shaking his head at Spade, but I only grinned. “No one is killing anyone.”

“I never said I’d kill them.” Spade shrugged and slammed his lips on mine, stealing my breath away as his tongue twined with mine. The swipe of his piercing had my pussy aching as I remembered exactly how skilled he was at using that tongue on other parts of me.

Merrick tugged me away, breaking my kiss with Spade. “We should see what all the new commotion is about because if Sophia went outside…”

I nodded, the lust Spade had just reignited snuffed out instantly. Zane had told us last night that mercenaries were trying to get through the forest behind the house. There were men stationed out there, but it only took one bullet to tear my friend away from me.

“Merrick,” Spade grumbled, but he and Kellan both got out of bed, collecting their clothes from the chaise lounge in the corner.

“You should go to the motel with Kellan,” Merrick said, completely ignoring Spade’s annoyance. “Just watch for any tails. The last thing we need is one of Angelo’s men following you there.”

“Of course.” Kellan clapped his friend on the shoulder before pulling me into his hard chest. His lips claimed mine, leaving me breathless as he broke away.

Spade kissed my temple and murmured, “If I kiss you again, I won’t be able to leave, love.”

My shoulders slumped, my body practically melting for him as he backed up. He winked, his violet eyes twinkling as he followed Kellan out into the hallway.

“You get changed.” Merrick gave my ass a little tap as I got up, making me wish I could rewind the clock and go back to whenthey were all touching me. I was still fucking wet, and none of them were apparently going to do anything about it. “I’ll go see what is happening with Sophia.”

He framed my face between his palms, leaning in for a sweet kiss before tearing himself away. “Soon, little devil. We’ll share you soon and make you crave even more.”
