What? I take the waters and hand her one. “Pretty women keep me on alert. No dislike, or hatred, but alert.” Since she’s from Honor, I give her honesty.

“That was rude. I don’t know what to say so slop comes out.” She looks right at me.

I like that she’s honest and owns it. “Not rude, just a question.”

“Yeah?” She looks hopeful. Bet she’s got a hundred questions.

Deciding I’m game, drunk or an idiot, I nod. “Ask away.”

“Wait.” She looks at my drink then raises her hand at the bartender closest. He rushes over, I bet because of the crystal blue eyes on that heart shaped face. “One more for each of us and another set of waters, please.”

“Roger, Boss Sophie.” The Prospect knows her?

She doesn’t wait for the drinks but turns with her blue eyes on me. “Why are you alert for pretty women?”

“Shit.” I did tell her to ask. I didn’t think she had the balls to go there. With a deep breath I tell her about Mika dropping me for a fake ‘sniper’ that turned out to be an infantryman.

She looks horrified so I make her laugh. “I thanked him for his service and closed the door on him when he saluted me. I was thanking him for moving her shit out. It saved me from alimony.”

Those blue eyes shine bright when she laughs. “How’d you get into Badass?” I throw my own question out there.

She shot for it when she got advice from different country commanders on being promoted to the job she wanted. She was smart enough to go outside her country. US is recognized as the best but they are because they use other countries expertise and manpower.

I like hearing her talk and get all my questions answeredwhile she asks me hers. It works well until I can’t think of a reason we’re still in the bar.

“Rooms upstairs.”

I stand and forget the ankle joint falling forward. “Hey, Brother.” My head turns and I’m held up by someone grabbing the back of my shirt. “Stop, it’s the ankle on my foot.”

“Sorry, Brother. She looked nervous.” He let’s go and moves to my side. “Girard. I didn’t know it was you. Aren’t you in Colorado?”

“Boulder, thanks. I might have fallen on Charlie’s Angel here. I’m at Rescue, LP’s second home.”

He laughs. “You’re both drunk. What room are you in?”

I smile seeing the Charlie’s Angel nod for him. “I can make it. I got the new foot and have to remember the list.”

He knows I wouldn’t make that shit up. He threw a trainee out for lying. I helped. “I’ll get you up there without falling on your Charlie’s Angel.”

“Thanks, Man.” The stairs throw me but Boulder helps. Charlie’s Angel, Sophia, holds my hand and in the room falls on the bed with me. I wave a thanks to Boulder.

“Why are we naked and where the hell am I?”

My eyes open with those words. “Tell me you’re Charlie’s Angel Sophia or I’ll hand you my gun.” That is when I remember where I put my gun.

Her laugh relaxes me because it’s Charlie’s Angel’s laugh. I turn my head and sure enough those are her crystal blue eyes. “Why Charlie’s Angel?”

“We did questions already.”

She gives me a scowl.

I nod. She deserves a real answer. “You have Wonder Woman eyes and a Charlie’s Angel mystery of job experience. I went with mystery. You asked me questions about a life of us. We both liked the answers and finished questions with how fucking works without an audience.”
