He pulls himself from his jeans, adjusting himself before easing into me. A gasp leaves my lips. My legs pull him deeper as I dig my heels into his ass. He grabs my thighs, picking me up from the counter, and turns us to the wall where the picture once hung. The cold wall against my back shocks my body, heightening my senses. Against that wall he continues thrusting into me, filling me with the length of him, biting and teasing my neck with his hungry mouth. I grip onto his broad shoulders not able to move as he uses me. God, this is amazing. Is this what sex is meant to be like? Passionate. Intense. In love?

His forehead rests on mine, our eyes meeting with electric charge. Each drive into me drives me crazy. The burning of the magic, Sam hitting the spot exactly right and the fact he is just the most amazing human I have ever met. It’s too much to hold in.

He reaches his own climax which sends me right back off the same cliff alongside him. I shut my eyes and fall, knowing he’ll catch me.

Still panting for the oxygen we have stolen from the room, he lowers me down so that my feet touch the floor. He holds me close, kissing my head and holding my body close to him.

“You’re the most amazing girl I have ever met.” He kisses my forehead one more time.

I look up into his beautiful green eyes. God, he is justeverything and more. How could I leave him now? How could I tell him that I am going to marry Greg? A wash of regret fills my face.

“Is everything OK?” He tips my chin towards him with his thumb and finger, delicately kissing my soft lips.

“I just… I wish we could stay in this bubble forever. Just us.” I sigh, knowing that it’s not possible.

He holds me for a moment and smiles in agreement.

“We might not have forever, but we have tonight.” His eyebrow raises.

I laugh. He is right. I have this moment with him. And even if it’s only this moment, a moment with him is worth the lifetime of misery with Greg.

“Now, before round two, I really am starving. Fancy something?”

“Round two? Someone is confident.” I smirk.

He smiles. “I told you it was to be continued.” He laughs before brushing his hand through my hair. “And now I’ve got you locked in here, I’m making sure I make the most of it.” His eyes glisten with lust.

He sends shivers down my spine and heat to my inner thighs once more. I blush as I watch him adjust his trousers.

He bends down to pick up the picture that fell on the floor and rehangs it. I watch the muscles in his back flex as he fixes it back to the wall.

“That was weird though. I mean, I know I’m good…” He sarcastically grins. “But didn’t think I was able to rock the building.”

If only he knew that I actually can.

We half dress and sit on the floor behind the counter drinking coffees and eating whatever bits he could find in the cupboards and fridges. The rain still patters down on the window and the log burner now blazes with the extra firewood Sam has thrownon. He places a blanket down on the floor beneath us like our own very private picnic.

It doesn’t take long for us to get into round two. Or three. Or four…

Nineteen

I awake to the sound of the coffee machine whirring. I am bundled in a blanket on the tiled floor behind the counter. I just want to stay here forever. In this bubble of us and not face the outside world and what that means for us. I turn to see the space where Sam must have slept but is now missing.

I dreamt of the wolf. His eyes have me captivated as I stand in that clearing with the moon beaming down on both of us. I brush it off. My dreams must be telling me the past and not the future. Maybe they feel muddled from last night’s antics.

“There she is…” I hear his silky voice from behind me.

I rise and cover myself with the blanket and turn to see him standing there, making coffee with a beaming smile. His face is so kind and gentle, but his eyes have that flicker of animalistic danger that makes me feel safe and not at the same time. He is simply perfect. On paper and in person. If only I had met him before. Years ago, before I met Greg. I would give anything for that to be my story.

“Now, not to rush you but my nana will be here in about ten minutes to open, so you might want to find your, erm, clothes.” He still has that cheeky smile plastered on his face.

I look at the clock on the wall. It’s 5:40 am. Gloria opens at 6am.

I rush to my legs. They are still shaken from last night, so I wobble like a fawn as I stand. I take a moment and wiggle my aching thighs. Sam lets out a laugh as he looks at me. I shoot a scowl at him, and he holds his hands up in submission.

I scramble around the mass of blankets trying to find my clothes that we tore off. I grab my leggings and bra and jumper and quickly put them on. I gather the blankets off the floor and fold them back into the blanket basket near the window.

Sam passes me a coffee, and I sit on one of the tables near the counter.
