He nods against my chest. “Yeah.”
“Okay. No more talking for now. We can talk more in the morning. Hand me your phone and I’ll text your mom to let her know you’re staying here so she doesn’t worry.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone, handing it over to me. “It’s too dark for the phone to recognize your face. You’ll have to enter in your password before you pass out on me.”
He’s so exhausted at this point even raising his head looks like it takes tremendous effort. “Just enter it for me.”
“Okay.”
He doesn’t say anything else. I know I said no more talking, but I’m not a mind reader. “D, you need to actually tell me your password if you want me to enter it.”
“Oh right,” he laughs lightly. “It’s 314159.”
I type in the numbers and his screen unlocks. “Aren’t those the first six numbers of pi?”
“Yeah.”
“You’re such a nerd, Becker. But a sexy one.” He grumbles into my chest. “I didn’t catch what you said since you’re talking to my right pec. It’s pretty large, you know, so it muffles the sound.”
He turns his head the slightest bit. “Hilarious. I said I hate it when you call me Becker.”
I grimace. “Sorry, it wasn’t a step back or a dig or anything. It slips out once in a while. Lots of people call you Becker.”
“Yeah, but they’re not you. I—never mind, I’m too tired to get into it.” He flops a leg over mine and my dick jolts in approval.Down boy, now’s not the time.
“Okay, then let me rephrase. You’re such a nerd, Dacen. But a sexy one.”
I feel his smile against my chest. “Better.”
I make quick work of texting his mom as him, explaining briefly what happened and that he’s going to sleep over. Dacen has already fallen asleep in my arms and I can hear his soft breaths and feel the warm puffs of air against my bare skin. I love it. So damn much. A ding alerts me of her reply and I check it without feeling guilty to make sure she’s not demanding he come home, particularly since he’s fast asleep.
Okay honey. We’ll see you tomorrow. Love you. Call if you need anything, baby.
I text Lily too, to let her know Dacen is staying over so they don’t freak out in the morning. I explain why, again briefly. With that I carefully reach over and set our phones face down on the nightstand and close my eyes, pulling him in tighter.
“I love you, Dacen,” I whisper to his sleeping body and kiss the top of his head.
The last thought I have before I’m totally out is that I am absolutely where I’m meant to be, with the person I’m meant to be with. And that thought doesn’t scare me at all.

Dacen
When my eyes pop open the next morning, everything looks different and it takes me a minute to get my bearings. Ryne stirs next to me and everything from yesterday comes flooding back. I look over at him and smile. His hair is a mess but his face looks serene. Our legs are tangled beneath a blanket he pulled over us at some point. He flops an arm out and wraps it around me, then tugs me closer. I shift until my back is to his chest and settle against him.
“Quit wiggling your ass, D,” Ryne growls against my skin.
“Why’s that?” I wiggle some more. His arm tightens and I run my hand along his forearm. It’s not the only body part that’s extra hard right now.
“You damn well know why.”
I rock my hips back and press my butt against him.
“Dacen Lukas Becker.”
I’m about to do it again but freeze when Rylee’s voice pops up from the hallway.
“Breakfast is ready, buttface.”
“Thanks, turd nugget,” Ryne calls back. He sounds more awake now. I peer over my shoulder and his eyes narrow. “You’re trouble,” he whispers and plants a kiss between my shoulder blades. Then he rolls onto his back and stretches.
