“It’s safe,” Klaus said. “No one knows who he is. He can walk in and out without them looking twice at him. As far as anyone knows, he’s just a guest at the hotel. Plus, he has Trix with him. They look like a cute little family just trying to get out of the place.”
I nodded glumly before pulling up Evan’s number on my phone. I sent him a quick text.
Rosalie: I’m sorry. I want to come back for you.
His answer came almost immediately.
Evan: Baby, don’t worry. We’re fine. We’re playing dolls, and we’ll leave once things quiet down. Dante sent the address. We’ll see you in a few hours. Be my good girl and smile, OK? I love you.
Rosalie: I love you too. Kiss Ellis for me.
Evan: Of course. See you soon, baby.
I darkened my screen and went back to looking out the window. I loved my life, but I also hated it.
Seemed to be a recurring theme I had.

“Daddy? Where are we going?” Ellis asked as I placed her inside the car Anson had sent for us.
“We’re going to see Mommy,” I replied as Trix slid into the seat next to her and began buckling her in.
“Is she singing now?”
“No, nugget, she’s waiting at a new hotel for us. We’re going to go and sleep there with her and your other daddies.”
She wiggled in her seat as she clutched Mr. Rufus. “Will Unkie Dunkie be there?”
I got in next to her and leaned down to kiss the top of her head.
“Yes. Unkie Dunkie is there too.”
She grinned and hugged Mr. Rufus tighter. She really loved Dante. He loved her right back, though, and as long as he didn’t fuck up, I’d continue to let him see her.
Rosalie knew how I felt. I could handle Dante now, after everything, but it took me a while. She knew that if he ever stepped out of line and showed an ounce of his real self around her, that would be it. I’d even warned him.
He rested his hand on my shoulder when I said it to him and promised me Ellis would always be safe with him.
So far, he’d kept that promise.
We headed out, bypassing all the reporters who were still lurking. A majority of them had left after the band left. I imagined they were rushing all over the damn city trying to find which hotel Rosalie was in.
The world was weird to be so obsessed, but my Ro didn’t seem to mind. At least she hadn’t before that prick attacked her.
“You excited for the show?” I asked Trix as we rode.
“Yeah. I haven’t seen the guys play in forever, and obviously, Rosalie is amazing. I’m really looking forward to it.”
I nodded. “Me too. I wish I could watch her perform more.”
Trix shot me a smile. “It’s hard, huh?”
I blew out a breath. “It is, but I have nugget here to keep me company. And you.”
“Yeah, but I’m a little lame,” she said with a small laugh.
