“I want…” She sucks in a breath.
“Yes?” I tilt my head to the side and wait for her to muster the courage to say the words.
“I want you to kiss me,” she breathes and closes her eyes to hide her embarrassment. When she opens them again, I’m already kneeling before her, my lips inches away from hers.
Chapter sixteen
~ELANA~
As I open my eyes, I’m met with his, the color of a raging storm. My heart stops momentarily, stunned by the view in front of me. Adrian is on his knees, his arms resting on each side of me, pinning me between them, his dark gaze locked with mine. His eyes gleam with the ghost of a smirk like a predator sizing its prey. My mind races as I take in the sight before me.
Adrian Morgan is on his knees in front of me. What a sight. My gaze travels down to his lips, which are dangerously close to mine. He’s a breath away from sealing them with mine.
I still with my heart hammering in my chest. Suddenly, it’s hard to breathe. Adrian lifts a hand andplaces it against the back of my head, his thumb brushing against my lower cheek. His hand is warm and soft, his touch like a fiery feather. With a gentle yet firm touch, he pulls me closer, and before I can fully comprehend what’s happening, his lips brush against mine, testing and waiting.
A swarm of butterflies flutters in my tummy, and when I don’t pull away, his lips tenderly press against mine and start moving. He’s kissing me lazily, slowly, until his lips and hand on my face are the only things that exist in this room, in this world.
The whole damned penthouse can go up in flames at this very moment, and I wouldn’t even notice it. I kiss him back, moving my mouth in sync with his, soft and gentle. The tip of his tongue glides across my lips, and I open them in a silent invitation. His tongue meets mine as softly and as gently as the kiss itself. He tastes of brandy and something sweet and minty.
A small moan escapes me before I can stop it, and I feel the corner of his mouth stretch in a half smile. His tongue doesn’t go any further in, and suddenly, it’s gone. He pulls away, the hand on the back of myneck still resting there, and I open my eyes, meeting his.
“Breathe,” he whispers, and I suck in a shaky breath, then another. “Good girl.”
I immediately feel my cheeks flush and look down at my hands gripping the blanket.
His thumb slides from my lower cheek to under my jawline, gently tilting my chin up.
“Penny for your thoughts.” I’ve never heard his voice be this soft, this comforting.
“I’d like to do that again,” I whisper with a slight smile.
“Would you now?” He flashes me a breathtaking grin that makes my hands itch to touch him. I nod and feel his hand guide my head forward again and kiss me. Only this time, there’s nothing gentle about the kiss. His tongue doesn’t wait for an invitation as it invades my mouth, forcing its way in and claiming every corner.
I whimper into his mouth and feel him smile against my lips. His fingers curl into my hair and tug on it, tilting my head back. His other hand pulls the blanket away from me, leaving my bare legsexposed to his touch. Releasing his hold on my hair, he places both hands on my knees, moving them slowly up my thighs, past my hips, to stop at my waist.
He breaks the kiss and, in one swift motion, lifts me up off the couch and then back down so I’m lying across it. Gently, he guides my head to the armrest of the couch. My heart races as I feel the soft cushion beneath my head. I glance up at him, his eyes dark with desire. With a firm touch, he spreads my legs and positions himself between them. The feel of Adrian’s body covering mine thrills me to my core. He holds his weight with one hand and pushes a strand of hair away from my face with the other, his thumb lightly sliding across my bottom lip.
“I’ve wanted these lips from the moment I saw you spill that coffee on yourself.” He’s so close that we’re sharing a breath. The scent of sandalwood, mint, and something sharp and clean surrounds me. He smiles as his thumb keeps stroking my lip. My eyes narrow then widen as I recall that first day at Morgan Investments.
He saw me at the cafe! He’s… he’s been wanting to kiss me all this time. His thumb is gone, replaced by his demanding lips. He kisses me in a way I’ve never been kissed before, pressing my head into the armrest. His tongue parts my lips, his hand moving past my knee and sliding down to cup my behind. The skirt of my dress pools around my waist as he gives my ass a firm squeeze.
He brings his body closer to mine, and something huge and hard pushes against my panties. I moan into his mouth at the realization of what is pressing against me and lift my hips. A low growl escapes his lips and floods my mouth with the sound. His hand fists my hair, tugging me back firmly.
“Such an impatient little thing,” he murmurs into my mouth.
“Adrian,” I plead, for what, I’m not sure. I’m not sure where this is going to go. His lips, touch, and body, they’re all guiding me to a place I’ve never been before. He releases my hair and reaches over to take my right hand in his. He slowly drags my hand down until it’s resting between my legs. Suddenly, he pulls away, sitting back on his heels, his hands sliding downmy legs.
“Show me how you touch yourself.” His voice is hoarse and filled with fire. I blink up at him, my hand still resting where he left it.
“I don’t—” I shake my head, embarrassment creeping its way up my cheeks.
“You don’t what?” He cocks his head to the side. “Touch yourself the same way you did that first morning you stayed here.”
I stare up at him in confusion. What is he talking about?
“I—I don’t know what you mean,” I whisper.
A deep chuckle escapes from him. “You think I didn’t hear your moans? You think I didn’t hear my name coming out of your mouth while you touched yourself?”
