“Yea. ‘Bout the same amount of people as the pimples you got in ya face.”
“Ha, ha, ha,” I mocked. “You’re a real funny guy.”
“And you’re a bird. What’s new?”
“That spec of butter on your teeth.” I pointed, tauntingly.
“Nah. Let’s talk about that corn in ya teeth.” He shot back.
“What?” I whipped my head around, lifted my phone, and turned the camera on. “You’re lying,” I fussed, after examining my teeth.
Shaking his head, he licked his lips, as I lowered my phone. Seconds later, my cell was ringing.
“What’s up, Nia?” I answered the call, while Lil’ Sin was still leaning in my face. “Uh, can you move?”
He locked eyes with me. “Make me.”
Sucking my teeth, I rolled my eyes.
“Riah,” Nia used my nickname, distracting me. “Y’all are coming to the party, right?”
“Uhh…” I peered around, realizing that we were now coasting down the freeway. “I don't think so. Jahrae, are we not going to Donavan’s party?”
“Nah.” Jahrae responded, as his eyes remained focused on the road. “We going to the hood.”
I arched a brow, as this was news to me. “The hood?”
“Yeah. To a event hall in Acres Homes. A girl named Jazzy is having a party.”
“But I could’ve sworn that I heard you tell daddy that we were going to Donavan’s party,” Jaylah interjected.
“Right.” Jahrae nodded. “Cause. We all know that daddy don't want us going to the hood unescorted. I’m trying turn up, and aint trying to be baby sat. Ion know ‘bout y’all, but I wanna move how I wanna move.”
“True.” We all responded simultaneously.
“Yeah, Nia, we’re going somewhere else.” I eventually spoke into my phone.
“Yeah, I just heard. Who’s all going?”
I sighed. “It’s just me, my brothers and sister…” My eyes cut towards Lil’ Sin. “And a dusty.”
“Dusty?” She tittered. “Wait. Are you talking about your cousin or whatever? One of those guys from New York.”
I crinkled my nose in disgust. “That nigga aint my cousin.”
She huffed into the phone. “Girl, you know what I mean. Anyway…definitely send the location once y’all get there. Cause…yeah.”
“Cause yeah what?” I frowned.
She sucked her teeth. “Girl, you know. Ibeenwanting to see what’s up. Those eyes are mesmerizing,” she swooned.
I sucked my teeth. “And on that note…bye.” I ended the call. Shaking my head, I grumbled. “She must be over at Donavan’s getting high…cause aint no way.” I cut my eyes at Lil’ Sincere. “Tuh.”
Sincere Junior
As the Escalade pulled into the lot, I sat up a bit. The lot was packed with cars, indicating that the party was probably lit.
“Damn,” JJ stressed, as he peered around.
