That shit made me laugh. The girl at the window handed Sianni her drink, and the second shawty took that first sip, I swear her whole mood changed.
“See?” I pointed at her. “That’s crazy. A damn espresso shot just brought you back to life.”
“Mind your business, Kyrie.” She tried to hide her smile before pulling away from the window.
“Nawl,” I said, still grinning, looking over at her. “That little attitude is funny as hell in the morning.”
She sucked her teeth, but I caught the smile pulling at her lips anyway while she drove off toward the doctor’s office.
After checking in, we finally got called back into one of the rooms. As Sianni sat beside me in the exam room, scrolling through her phone while we waited for the doctor to come in, I couldn’t help but cut my eyes at her.
Damn, this woman was fine as fuck without even trying. Pretty face, pretty attitude, smart mouth, and a good heart. Everything about her pulled me in. The way she sat there with those thick thighs crossed and those glossy lips poked out while she focused on her phone had me staring harder than I probably should’ve been.
And the crazy part? I actually fucked with her for real. My eyes dropped to the hand she had resting on my thigh before I carefully leaned my head back on the wall. I was already irritated from being in this damn office. I just needed them to hurry up and tell me what the next step was so we could leave.
Plus, I had plans for Sianni. My nigga Peter had been over at the house all morning putting together her surprise. Ever since she told me she liked drawing, my ass had been plotting quietly. Paying attention to the little shit she probably thought I ignored.
I had one of the extra rooms in the mansion turned into her own little art studio. Although I already knew she was probably gonna cuss my ass out when she saw it. Maybe swing on mea little just because she liked acting tough. But shit, I could handle her lil’ attitude. Lowkey, I liked it. That fire she had did something to me.
The door suddenly opened, pulling me from my thoughts. A younger doctor walked inside with a clipboard in his hand, greeting us before his eyes landed on Sianni a little too damn long for my liking.
My jaw tightened. The nigga wasn’t even trying to hide it either. His eyes dragged over her body before he finally looked at me.
“Aye, fool,” I said calmly, making Sianni lift her head from the phone.
The doctor blinked, caught off guard. “Yes, sir?” he asked.
“Do you plan on continuing to see and be a doctor?” I asked, staring dead at him.
I wasn’t playing with this nigga either.
The doctor quickly straightened up. “Yes, sir,” he answered with a nod.
“Good. Then pay attention to me and do your fucking job, because she ain’t your patient.”
“Kyrie,” Sianni sighed beside me, shaking her head.
“What?” I looked over at her.
“Stop it.” She laughed softly, even though she was trying not to.
“What? I ain’t do shit. I’m just letting the nigga know you mine. You ain’t part of that clipboard, and you damn sure ain’t my arm.”
“The man is just doing his job.”
“How the hell is he doing his job when he's eye-fucking you like he’s dying of thirst?” I leaned back in the chair, cutting my eyes at the dude again. “Only thing getting quenched around here is my thirst. That’s it.”
Sianni slapped her forehead, fighting a smile. “Sir, can we please just finish what we came here for so I can get this man out of here?”
The doctor nodded fast as hell before looking back down at his clipboard. Dude suddenly seemed real interested in reading paperwork.
Good.
After checking over whatever he needed to see, he carefully helped slide my arm out of the sling before cutting the cast off. The second that pressure came off my arm, I rolled my shoulder a little and let out a breath.
Finally.
“Okay, Mr. Maddox,” the doctor said with a small smile, “you’re officially a free man.”
