“I'm saying watch.”

The difference mattered. Because watching a nigga was one thing. Planning for him was another. And something told me Jamal wasn't the type to stay quiet for long.

Marissa sat on the couch, scrolling through her phone with a smile on her face.

A smile that was starting to get on my damn nerves.

“What the hell got you looking so happy?” I asked.

Instead of answering me, she picked up her wine glass and took a sip.

A few seconds later, her phone buzzed.

The smile on her face got even bigger.

I frowned.

“Okay… what the hell is going on?”

“Nothing,” she replied.

“Girl, please.”

Marissa looked down at her phone before locking the screen.

“Sianni got a little message.”

My eyebrows lifted.

“What message?”

Marissa set her wine glass down before leaning back against the couch.

“Just something to let her know she ain't as safe as she thinks she is.”

I stared at her for a second.

“What the hell does that mean?”

“It means exactly what I said.”

Now, that sounded like a whole lot for a bitch who was already married. Don't get me wrong. I couldn't stand Sianni’s ass. Never could. But Marissa? Shawty wasn't even worried about Sianni. Everything always came back to Kyrie. Every conversation. Every plan. Every damn thing. It was getting old.

“At some point, you gon’ have to accept that he don't want you,” I muttered.

The room instantly got quiet.

Marissa slowly lifted her eyes from her wine glass.

“What did you say?”

I already knew I probably should've kept my mouth shut.

But honestly?

I was tired of hearing about Kyrie Maddox every damn day.

“I said the nigga moved on.”
