Hey RC,

I’m sure you saw the news about Robert Galloway from TF passing. Maybe it’s silly to feel so sad about the loss of a person I didn’t even know. But I felt like I knew him? He always seemed so warm and like he really cared about the kids on the set.

I watched a TF behind the scenes a long time ago—gosh, I don’t even remember when or where. But there was footage of him interacting with the Intrepid Trio between takes. He was so friendly, and I just feel so sad.

Pete said that Robert Galloway would want people to remember who he was at his best, not crying over him on social media in order to get likes. I have seen some virtue signaling, but I hope you know that’s not what I’m doing. I just thought that if anybody understood how sad I was feeling, it would be you. Does that make sense?

How are you doing?

Hugs,

Kate

Tell Pete that he can go get fucked. I can’t believe you are still seeing that tosser. Rob Galloway was a goddamn angel of a man. You’re allowed to feel however the hell you want. And your intuition was right, Rob meant so much to all three of us. All the kids on set, really.

I just got the call from Emma. She was crying so hard I could hardly hear her. I’m glad I found out from her though, and not online. I’m absolutely shattered. I loved that man like a father. He often treated us better than our own parents. There were years we spent more time with him than with our own families. Fuck. I’m so bloody sad.

I promised Emma I would go to the funeral for her. I really don’t know how I’ll stomach it. Everybody standing around simpering and posturing about who loved him best. You think it’s bad online, you should see the people who crawl out of the woodwork at these things.

But I’m no better. I should have been talking to him still. More than just a few chats a year. The man meant so much to me for so long, and I just pushed him away like I did with every fucking person in my life.

I wish I could bloody send this …

I did hear about Robert Galloway. I think it’s okay if people post about him. People are allowed to grieve in any way they want, even if that means getting upset about somebody that they didn’t know personally. I think that’s quite lovely. I don’t think anybody would mind being remembered after they pass.

I’m struggling tonight. I just found out I’m going to have to take a trip in the next few days to attend a funeral for a former coworker, and I’m desperate for a drink. To mourn Galloway. And to mourn the loss of a friend I should have reached out to more often. And then another during the flight. And another before I see people I haven’t spoken to in a decade. And most of all, I want one because I have to leave the kids with Agata.

I’m a bit of a wreck right now. You know it’s bad when even Agata isn’t yelling at me as much …

I should call my sponsor.
