Why was Kieran with this man? Didn’t he know how dangerous he was? Did Kieran think so little of himself? Or was Grant manipulating him somehow? What business could they have together? Then it came to him.
“You own the tattoo shop, don’t you?”
Grant smiled. “I own many businesses.”
Langdon snorted. “That’s an understatement. Look, whydon’t you all use my office to have this discussion without an audience.”
“Kieran is my guest for dinner, Langdon,” said Grant. “It’s this one who stormed over and started throwing around unfounded accusations.”
“You know I’ll throw all your arses out on the street,” said Langdon.
Grant chuckled. “I don’t doubt that, son. Look at us, Derek, with our stepsons. I’m sitting here in this amazing venue; my boy is the owner. You’re here, stopping your boy from getting a great business opportunity because of your jealousy. I want my stepson to be successful. You want yours on his knees with his head bowed.”
Derek couldn’t do anything to stop his face heating. He dared not look Kieran in the eyes. The last thing he wanted to do was confirm any of the dirty thoughts he’d been having over the past few weeks since they’d become reacquainted. Derek had to be the responsible one here.
“I’ll leave you to yourbusiness,” said Derek, through gritted teeth, before walking away.
He thought he’d been protecting Kieran by storming over there, but all he’d done was make a fool of himself. What pissed him off the most was that Grant had been right: he was jealous.
The sound of his doorbell made him jump. He’d done something he never did and called Neil to say he wouldn’t be at the club tonight. With the way his mood was, he was worried he’d do something stupid if anyone caused any trouble. It was eleven o’clock at night now. Who the hell would be at his door? The bell rang again. He opened the app for the door camera, and almost dropped his phone. It was Kieran.
Part of him was happy that he hadn’t gone back to Grant’s house, but the other part knew that Kieran being at his doorthis late at night wouldn’t be for a social call. He was about to get an earful. Derek chuckled at the thought. He couldn’t help himself with brats. He groaned as he got up, realising he had to get this over with.
“Took your fucking time answering the door, didn’t you,” Kieran snapped, storming past him.
“Please come in, Kieran.”
Derek followed him into the living room. He was about to offer him a drink, but Kieran started pacing.
“Kieran, what are you doing here?”
“Isn’t that what you wanted?”
“I assume this is about Grant. Do you want to sit down?”
“You’d like that, wouldn’t you?”
That made no sense. He was just snapping for the sake of it. Clearly, something had upset him. It was either Derek’s behaviour tonight, or Grant had done something.
“Has Grant hurt you?”
“Him? Him? He’s been nothing but a gentleman to me.”
Derek snorted. Not a word he would associate with Grant Kincaid. Kieran glared at him. He was annoyingly cute when he was scowling, or when he pouted. Not that he wanted his thoughts to go there.
“Do you want to fuck me,Derek,or do you preferDaddy?”
It wasn’t often Derek was speechless, but he was now. What was happening? He needed to take control of this conversation.
“Kieran, sit down.”
“You don’t get –”
“I saidsit,” he barked.
Kieran’s eyes went wide, and he complied immediately. The obedience did nothing to quell Derek’s wandering thoughts.
“Tell me what Grant said to you.”
