The look he gave me told me I’d have an easier time convincing him to take me back to the club so I could continue my conversation with the college boy.

“Are you kidding? And miss out on the opportunity for a goodbye kiss? No dice, Luck.”

He jumped out and rounded the back, opening the passenger door for me and taking my hand so I could hop out.

He leaned back into the car. “Ralph, just give me five.”

Lacing our fingers together, we walked to the door. I turned to face him as we reached the top step.

His eyebrow rose as he waited. “Put the key in the lock, Luck. I’m taking you to your apartment door.”

I did, and we walked through in silence, broken only by the sound of our heavy breathing. We got into the elevator andstood on opposite sides, the air thick and heavy like the calm before a lightning storm. His eyes never left mine. Railings ran around the edges, and his hands were gripping them so tightly his knuckles had turned white.

As the bell pinged, he dragged me out. “Which door?”

I pointed to the end of the hall. “6B”

He pushed me against the wall right as we reached it, his massive body pressing into me once more, and I could feel every thick, solid inch of him. His mouth crashed down, his perfect pillow lips engulfing me. His tongue, hot and soft and wet, stroked against mine while his hand found the back of my head. He pushed himself further into my mouth with unbridled need, greedy and desperate, like he was swallowing me whole and couldn’t get close enough.

My entire body was shaking, a burst of pure lust shooting out from my throbbing clit and he swallowed a low moan which had barreled up from the depths of my throat. I started rocking against him, desperate for the friction.

He tilted my head, moving his lips along my jaw without ever breaking contact. Nibbling at the pulse point under my ear, shockwaves reverberated around my body. His tongue moved along my collarbone, soaking my panties further and tightening my nipples, before he licked long and flat along the column of my neck, moving back up to quickly press his lips to mine a final time.

My skin was blazing so hot from his touch I could set the fire alarms off.

“I need to go.” His already deep voice was thick and sticky like molasses, coating my skin.

He leaned in and kissed me on the cheek then turned and walked away, giving me a backward glance, winking as he stepped on the elevator.

My hands were shaking as I reached for the lock, taking four tries before I managed to slot the key in. My phone buzzed as I shut the door behind me.

VSG: I’m so happy I found you. Sleep tight, Lucky Charm. I’ll call you tomorrow X

I walked through my apartment and flopped onto my bed, my heart still pounding in my chest, and nothing could hold back my smile as I thought about everything that had happened that day.

Glancing at his message again, I realized my screen looked different.

Opening it up, I now knew what he’d been doing when I’d watched him fiddling with my phone. Staring back at me was the photo he’d taken in Vegas, the memory of us waiting for the elevator smacking me hard. He’d practically dragged me away with him back to his suite, making me laugh until I cried and I was looking up at his impossibly beautiful face with a level of happiness I hadn’t seen in myself for a really long time.

I ran my finger across his dimple.

That dimple was going to get me in trouble.

No doubt about it.

Chapter 9

What the fuck was that noise?

I was in the country, right? I definitely didn’t stay in the city.

I felt around the bed to see if I could tell, not wanting to open my eyes to figure it out. It was too early.

The beeping got louder and I threw a pillow over my ears trying to block it, which didn’t work.

I opened my eyes. Yep, I was in the country.

And it was seven fucking a.m.
