The private and business security branches interstate have flourished. Though, we Men of Valor MC keep our own town just how we like it. Without too much notice from the outside.

But all that’s run from a few phone calls, a few online chats once or twice a week.

I get to spend every precious moment I can with my babies, and my girl.

The only other part of my proposal I had to insist on.

“Do whatever you want, Rose,” I told her, meaning it. “Be whoever you want. Just make sure I’m there, that we’re all there at the same time to share how beautiful you are,” was my only request.

And, like everything else, like the club’s requests too. I got my wish.

Blake Maxwell was cleared of all wrongdoing when the feds came in and cleared out all the crooked cops he had dirt on. Cason made sure he became the number one tax consultant for all Men of Valor MC Businesses, and our own private interests, meaning Blake had to form a company of his own.

The burdens of his past fell away quickly behind him.

The future of Valor and legitimate business is prospering under his direction now.

Our direction.

The Men of Valor MC.

It’s rarely perfect, but we’re getting there, one step at a time.

And for me, nothing’s more perfect than the sound of cooing babies and a dotting wife.

Domestic bliss, no additional security required.

“Thorn? Will you change Jake, please? And Jasmine? I’ve got a class in like five minutes…”

It’s music to my ears.

My girl, my woman teaching her own classes now, even after just a couple of years of catch up studies.

My babies at arm’s reach.

Mine.

“Thorn?” Rose grates as I nuzzle her neck, scooping the kids up from playing at her feet.

“I’ve got a class,” she insists, giving me the look.

The look followed by the silent ‘thank you’ she mouths, right before her online tutoring class starts and just as I get both babies out of screenshot view on the way to the changing table.

“She’s got class alright, don’t she guys?” I ask in a whisper, my own students wriggling and grinning in front of me.

Looking down at both kids squirming in front of me as I toss their diapers in the trash, hearing them giggle and coo.

It makes me feel like the king of the world.

King of our world.

And Rose is my queen.

Seeing their momma’s eyes staring back up at me. Those dimples when they smile and gurgle with anticipation tugs at my heartstrings every time I see them.

When my queen is too busy to give me my fix, they’re the next best thing.

And I make sure to get them changed so she can squeeze them right back once she has her first break.

I sneak ‘em in.

Babies out of screen.

Me crouching low and handing momma her babies so we can all be the family in the little fort I built next to her desk.

Today seems like a slow class, and our babies are quick to fall asleep.

I get them into their cribs next to mommy and trying not to break her concentration, I slide into the heavy leather seat next to all of them.

The sound of her voice, our babies’ breathing making me smile and then purr like the cat I know is lurking somewhere.

In time with the sleepy breaths from the cribs, I hear my own breathing slow and relax.

I hear my Rose’s voice mix with my memory of our past.

That day I asked her to not just be mine, but stay mine.

To share the family, our tribe I know we both craved.

And here we are.

The Men of Valor MC will always have my honor. My strength and my loyalty.

But my woman, our children, and any other additions will have double that and more.

I almost drift off into a dream of our future happiness.

But the phone on her desk rings just as she signs off from her tutorial.

“Dad?” she says, surprised, and I feel myself jolt awake.

Glancing over at the kids, I can see they’re better at sleeping during the day than I am.

“… No, I’d love to. I mean. I’d love it if you could,” Rose says, shooting me a glance.

A glance that asks a question and has its answer before she even has to think about it.

Of course, he can. He’s their grandpa. Our family.

He always wants to sit the kids so Rose and I can go someplace, do something nice.

Tonight, or tomorrow. Whenever it is, I’d like to take her out on the bike.

Just a trip around Valor.

A little reminder that I’ll always be her ride.

Her ride or die. No matter what.
