“Good.”
I reach for Flynn’s wrist, trying to pull it from my throat, but he just shakes his head again.
“You can breathe when you come. Not a second before.”
My head swims, every part of my body tingling. Flynn pumps in and out of me, the lack of air heightening the sensations. Each thrust rolls through my body and all I can do is cling to Flynn as dizziness takes over. Just as I think I’m about to pass out, Flynn pinches my clit and pleasure explodes.
“Good girl.” Flynn loosens his grip and I gasp for air as my climax ricochets through me, the pleasure so violent it threatens to take me under. I collapse against the wall, letting Flynn hold me up as he pounds faster before grinding to a stop and pulsing inside of me. Warmth spreads through my core, his release filling me up.
I curl into Flynn, burying my face in his shoulder and breathing him in. I don’t know whether it’s him or just the fact that I can breathe again but nothing has ever smelled so good.
“Fuck, Lilac.” Flynn cradles the back of my head, keeping me close as he softens inside of me. He kisses my face, his lips brushing my ear. “So much better than in the books.”
I laugh, tired and sated, my eyes drifting shut. My body is sore in the best way and I’m only vaguely aware of Flynn lying me down on the bean bag and covering me with a blanket.
“I’ll be back in minute. Don’t move,” he orders.
I’m not sure I could move right now if I wanted to, so I do as I’m told and Flynn reappears a moment later with a bottle of water and a washcloth. He draws the blanket back and spreads my thighs, his gaze turning hooded as he watches his cum leak from my pussy.
“Fuck, that’s hot.”
I squirm as he strokes the cloth between my thighs, the material warm against my skin.
“Sensitive?” Flynn asks.
I nod.
“Good.” He puts the cloth down and finds my still throbbing clit, pressing down on it with his thumb. “Maybe it will make you think twice the next time you decide to disobey me.”
I tense, gritting my teeth until he relents.
Flynn leans over me, pressing his forehead to mine. “Good girls get rewarded, bad girls get punished. Understood?”
“Yes,” I breathe out. It would be hard not to understand when I can still feel his hand on my throat. The same hand which has killed eight people.
Funny how I never once felt unsafe.
“Good girl.” Flynn draws the blanket back over me and lies down, pulling my back to his chest. I rest my cheek on the bean bag and look around his murder room. If you ignore the crime scene-esque cork board on the wall, it just looks like a gaming den. The shag rug is gentle under my legs, and the dim lighting is soft against the black walls.
But my gaze drifts back to the murder board. The photos of all the men Flynn’s killed are surrounded by what looks like evidence of their crimes. The only photo not linked to news articles or documents is the one of Senator Claren. He’s pinned up in the middle at the top of the board, his smiling face making me uneasy.
Flynn’s hand rests on my bare stomach and I play with his fingers as I get up the nerve to speak. “What exactly is your plan for the senator?” I ask, kind of glad I’m not facing him right now so part of me can pretend he’s not a serial killer and we’re talking about something other than pre-meditated murder. “I mean, why haven’t you already… you know?”
“Killed him?”
I grimace. “Yeah. That.”
Flynn’s breath puffs against my neck, making my hair flutter. “I haven’t found enough evidence yet. When I kill him, I want the world to know exactly what sort of monster he is.”
I stare at the photo of the senator. His perfect teeth and neatly cut hair seeming all the more sinister now I know the truth. “So how do you find evidence?”
Flynn brushes his thumb over my stomach. “Everyone makes mistakes, you just have to find them. There’s this woman, she signed an NDA and received a significant sum of money in return.”
“You think she has something on Claren.”
I shiver as Flynn lifts the hair off my neck and kisses the spot behind my ear. “I do.”
He rests his head back, the beans in the bean bag rustling beneath us. “I’d go talk to her but I’m not sure that will go down too well.”
