Later that Night
Emma: *high five*
Noah: ?
Emma: Don’t leave me hanging.
Noah: Pardon?
Emma: Never mind. How’s the Windy City?
Noah: Windy. I’m back at my hotel for the night. How was Music Theory?
Emma: Fine, but I miss our duet practices. Slade broke us up into groups today, and we talked about modulation between keys. Riveting stuff.
Emma: That stupid Aaron boy I told you about was in my group again.
Emma: I hate him.
Noah: You’re still holding on to that grudge?
Emma: He won’t stop making dumb blonde jokes.
Noah: Don’t let him bother you. He’s a child.
Emma: He’s a jerkface who’s just asking to get his nose broken. Maybe my boyfriend will beat him up for me.
Noah: Luckily, your boyfriend won’t have to because he’s dating a responsible young woman who doesn’t concern herself with those who aren’t worth her anger.
Three Minutes Later
Emma: Yeah, nice try, but I still want to punch him in the face.
Noah: You’ll break your thumb.
Emma: Thanks for your faith in me, bae. <3
Noah: I thought we agreed on no nicknames.
Emma: I only agreed not to call you Ark Boy, and you’re not allowed to call me M&M.
Noah: I’ve never called you that.
Emma: And you never will. :)
A few hours of texting later
Noah: It’s past midnight. You should get some sleep.
Emma: It’s even later for you!
Noah: I’ll be fine. I fly back in the morning.
Emma: Good. Wanna grab dinner before night class? The diner down the block is doing a happy hour, and I’m craving cheeseburgers.
Noah: I’d love to. Meet at our tree?
Emma: At 4!
