She licked her lips and looked at me with an expression I couldn’t pinpoint. Eventually, it turned into a smile, and I set her hands free.

“So you like me.” She was blushing and it was so precious. How could I not want her?

It was scary to think about the future, but I wouldn’t let myself. I couldn’t ruin this moment. She was standing there, wanting me as I wanted her, and I had to savor that feeling. The fact that we were best friends made everything easier. I felt more comfortable than I had with anyone else. I didn’t have to worry about how she would react to me being deaf or how she would handle it. I knew she’d be patient and understanding with me. I knew I was safe with her.

I bit my lip and nodded, kissing her again. I wanted to take my time exploring every part of her. As our tongues laced together and her hands wrapped around my waist, I knew what we were doing was right. Everything felt so right with her.

Kaia shocked the hell out of me by grabbing my ass, and I kissed her deeper. I had never been so turned on from only a kiss, but every touch set my whole body on fire. I needed more of her and fewer clothes between us. I needed anything and everything that was Kaia Rhodes.

I broke the kiss, panting and a little dizzy. I looked at her flushed face and dark eyes. She was smiling. That was a good sign. Right?

“What happens now?” she asked. She was playing with the hem of my dress, waiting for an answer, and I wondered if she knew she was doing it.

I licked my lips and reached up to brush my lipstick from the corner of her mouth. “Now, we go to my room and make each other come, Kaia.” Her only response was a nod, her breathing heavy. I was so glad I wasn’t the only one affected by our kiss. I couldn’t wait to see what else would cause a reaction from her.

Was this a good idea? Probably not. Was it going to ruin everything? Potentially. Was I going to do it anyway? Absolutely.

Chapter Twenty-Three

KAIA

Was this really happening?I kept expecting to wake up from the sexiest dream of my life. As she took my hand and led me to her bedroom, my mind kept replaying the events of the night, trying to find what I’d missed.

Daisy kissed me under the mistletoe. My first kiss with Daisy was under the freaking mistletoe! I could die happily with that memory.

Daisy knew I had feelings for her, and she hadn’t run away. Instead, she revealed her own feelings. She had feelings for me?! I was still trying to process it. Never in my entire life would I have seen that one coming.

Now, she led me to her room. I was so wet, if she touched me at all, I wouldn’t last very long. I had to gain composure. I didn’t know what was happening, but I wasn’t about to ruin it by ending it early.

After the door closed and she turned me against the wall, she kissed the air out of my chest. She ran her hands up and down my sides, and my hands made their way to her ass. That ass I’d seen in the showers that I was desperate to touch.

She pulled us apart and I whimpered at the loss. “Is everything okay? Do you want to stop?” I asked.

Being intimate with someone who needed to use their hands to communicate was new to me. We might have been friends for a while, but this was a whole new experience. I had to make sure I was cautious with how things went and that her needs came first, which wasn’t anything new.

She shook her head so fast I was nervous it was going to roll on the floor. “No, no, no. God no, Kaia. I don’t want to stop. I was just going to ask if I could see you. Do you want to stop?”

I laughed. Like, a loud, ugly laugh. I shook my head when shelooked at me like I was crazy. “I really, reallydon’t. I’ve wanted this for a while.”

Hesitantly, I slid the straps of my dress off my shoulders, hyper aware of everything. My heart pounded so loudly in my chest, and Daisy stared at me so intently, so deeply, I couldn’t look away.

“I didn’t expect this to happen. We were going to a party, and I just wanted to feel pretty.” I was rambling, but it was true. I was wearing a matching black lace bra and panty set, and I didn’t want her to think I’d expected someone to see it. In retrospect, I knew she didn’t think that. But hell, this night had gone in a direction I couldn’t have ever imagined, so I had to cover all my bases.

She nodded slowly, not taking her eyes off me. “And do you?”

I blinked. “What?”

“Do you feel pretty? Because I can tell you what I see, but I want to know how you feel.”

No one had ever asked me that before, but I didn’t have to think about her question. “I do.” I nodded. With the way she was looking at me, like I was the only thing she wanted to look at, like I was the most beautiful person in the world, how could I not feel pretty?

“Good, because, Kaia, you’re not just pretty, okay? You’re phenomenal. A lesbian’s fantasy. Hell, anyone’s fantasy.”

I blushed, unsure what else to say or think. That was all I’d ever wanted, for her to think about me like that. And now that she did, I didn’t know how to handle it.

My heart was beating so fast and my breathing was shaky when I responded. “Thank you.”

She smiled and started to unzip her dress, when I stopped her. “We don’t have to do anything you aren’t comfortable with, Daisy.” Just because I wanted this more than anything, I refused to do something she didn’t want.
