By the look in her eyes, she noticed. Her eyes got darker and her breathing had picked up slightly.

One of the moves had our bodies flushed together and I could see her reddened cheeks. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t also affected by our dance. My shirt was thin and I could feel her chest pressed up against it. My heart was racing out of control and I forced myself not to lean in and kiss her. As desperate as I was, I wanted her to want me just as bad.

I got my wish because she gripped me by my suspenders and fused our mouths together, closing what little distance we had. I groaned into the kiss, giving it everything I had. It was a short kiss, but it was passionate and filled with so many feelings.

She broke the kiss, panting. She licked her lips and shook her head. “¡Ay dios mio! You really know how to make a girl wet with only a kiss.”

Fuck me! She could not say something like that and expect me not to lose it. “You’re walking a thin line, Cara. I can only be respectful for so long when you say things like that.”

She smiled. “I thought you said you’d let me take charge. You know, show you what you’ve been missing?”

She was toying with the buttons on my shirt and as put together as I appeared, inside, I was melting. I could act tough all day long, but as soon as Cara looked at me, or smiled, I’d crumble for her if that’s what she wanted. I was so pathetically hers, but I didn’t care.

I grabbed her waist and pulled her closer. “Then take charge, Cara. Show me exactly what I’ve been missing. Because if you don’t, I will.”

“I’m about to do something wreckless, aren’t I?”

I lowered my voice. “God, I hope so.”

We stared at each other for a moment longer, neither of us saying a word. After a few more seconds of intense gazes, she pulled me in and kissed me.

I loved when she took charge like that. It didn’t happen often, but it set my whole body on fire when it did. It proved to me thatit wasn’t all in my head. That the attraction I felt wasn’t only one-sided.

She kissed me so fiercely, it was like she was claiming me with that kiss. Like she didn’t have me already. Like every single cell in my body didn’t belong to her by now.

She bit at my bottom lip and I wanted to crumble in that moment. I let out a soft moan and felt her smile into the kiss.

She broke the kiss and I cursed under my breath. We had to get out of there, or at least I did. I needed to take care of the building ache between my thighs.

“Take me upstairs, Vera.” She said it like she was trying to come off demanding and seductive, but her red cheeks and heavy breathing gave her away. I could tell she was nervous.

“Are you sure? I know what I said earlier, but if you don’t?—”

She cut me off with another kiss and I could feel my knees starting to shake. What the fuck was wrong with me that I was getting weak in the knees from a kiss? Perhaps it wasn’t the kiss, but the woman who owned the kiss. The woman who owned me.

She nodded, bringing her bottom lip between her teeth, making me groan. “Yes, Vera. I’m sure. Please take me upstairs so I can finally fuck you.”

Without another word, I grabbed her hand and headed back to the table to say our goodbyes and get her purse.

We walked up to the table to everyone looking at us inquisitively. Did they know where we were going? What was about to happen? Did I care?

“We’re going to call it a night, ladies. Drea and Blair, thank you for letting me be a part of your big day, and congrats again.”

Cara whispered something to Blair, whose eyes caught mine. She smiled, but gave me a look that said to take care of her best friend. Like I’d do anything else.

Drea looked at me with a cheeky grin. “Of course, Vera. We’re glad you could be here. Sleep well.” She winked.

Cara grabbed my elbow and wrapped her hand around my arms. I smiled at her faint squeeze of the muscle there. I’d be utilizing them later. “Oh, she will. Love you, dolls.” And with that, Cara led me away from a cackling Drea and her fiancée.

We hadn’t even made it to our room yet, and I was ready to take her in the elevator. She was taking charge, and I didn’t think I could’ve waited a second longer. I was getting so worked up and she hadn’t even touched me yet.

But that was always how it was. One look. One lick of her lips, and I was gone. She didn’t know it, but she owned every part of me.

I was going to let her take control, but not yet. As soon as the door to our room was shut and locked, she was against it, the dress already coming off her shoulders. She worked my vest off and grabbed me by my suspenders to bring our bodies closer together.

After a few more ravenous kisses, she broke us apart and looked at me. I wasn’t sure what she was looking for. If she was looking for a hint that I didn’t want this, she’d never find it. I’d always want anything with Cara.

“You’re perfect, Vera.” Her voice was so soft, her touch so gentle, I had no choice but to believe her words.
