“It might be.”

“You just invented it?”

“I was checking your reaction.”

“That is manipulative.”

“It was informative.”

I moved to the other leg. Tessa leaned against the counter and watched.

“You like her.”

“I barely know her.” I kept my attention on the stretch, though my calf had stopped needing supervision.

“That has never stopped attraction.”

“I am not attracted to her.”

Tessa’s gaze dropped pointedly to the shopping bag on the counter. “You bought a new sports bra.”

“I needed appropriate support.”

“You researched support for four hours.”

“That was product comparison.” I switched legs, buying time with the movement.

“You also own three already.”

“They were not designed for running.”

Tessa folded her arms. “You have run for a combined total of roughly fourteen minutes.”

“Twelve.”

Her eyebrows lifted. I regretted the correction immediately.

“You know the exact number.”

“The sessions are documented.”

Tessa picked up my phone from the counter.

“Eleven voice messages?”

I took it from her.

“They are training reminders.”

“From a trainer with a very friendly profile picture.”

“You opened the message thread?”

“It was visible. She also sent audio at five fourteen in the morning.”

“She works early.”

Tessa held out her hand. “What did it say?”
