Meanwhile, Zane's mouth found mine, swallowing my increasingly desperate moans before they could escape. His kiss was deep and claiming, his tongue tangling with mine in a rhythm that matched the movement of their bodies. When he broke away, it was only to trail his lips along my jaw, down my throat, murmuring words in a language I didn't recognize but understood in my bones—praise, wonder, devotion.

The pleasure built impossibly high, my body caught between them as they moved together with increasing urgency and desperation. Every muscle in my core tightened as they drove deeper, their synchronized rhythm pushing me closer to the edge with each calculated thrust.

When Rook's teeth found my shoulder, marking me with careful pressure, possessive and reverent all at once, I gasped at the exquisite sensation of being claimed. Simultaneously, Zane's clever fingers found my clit, stroking with a precision that came from intimate knowledge of exactly what made me come undone.

The dual stimulation was too much, too perfect, and I shattered completely, breaking apart between them as pleasure detonated through every nerve ending in my body.

The orgasm ripped through me with the force of a lightning strike, my inner muscles clenching around both of them as waves of pleasure crashed over me. The markings on my skin exploded with light, so bright I could see it through my closed eyelids.

My release triggered theirs. Zane came first, his hips stuttering as he filled me with warmth. The sensation pushed Rook over the edge, his growl vibrating through my bones as he followed suit.

We collapsed together in a tangle of limbs, all three of us spent and trembling. The blue glow of my markings graduallydimmed to their usual gentle radiance as our breathing slowly returned to normal.

I lay between them, feeling utterly boneless, completely sated in ways I hadn't known I needed. Zane's arm was draped across my waist while Rook's hand stroked my hair with surprising gentleness.

"That was," I began, then trailed off, lacking adequate words.

"Perfect," Zane finished, pressing a soft kiss to my temple. "You're perfect."

Rook's arm tightened around me possessively. "Whatever happens tomorrow, remember this. Remember that you're loved. Completely."

I turned my face to nuzzle against his throat, breathing in his pine and earth scent. "I love you too. Both of you. All of you."

Chapter

Fifty-Eight

Winter

Morning came too soon, sunlight painting the bedroom in shades of gold that felt almost mocking given where we were about to go. I woke tangled between Rook and Zane, their bodies warm and solid against mine, a reminder of last night's desperate claiming.

The Oracle's mark on my forehead pulsed steadily, not painful, but insistent.Today,it seemed to say.Today everything changes.

I extracted myself carefully, not wanting to wake them yet. They'd given me exactly what I needed last night. Connection, certainty, a reminder that whatever happened in the Vault Beneath, I wouldn't face it alone.

In the kitchen, I found Milo already awake, practically vibrating with nervous energy as he arranged tiny backpacks for his skeleton crew. Each pack was meticulously organized, stuffed with what looked like miniature supplies.

"Morning," he looked up with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Ready for our field trip to cosmic horror prison?"

"Thrilled," I poured coffee with shaking hands. "Nothing says 'fun day' like communing with an ancient entity that can end timelines."

Milo's laugh was slightly hysterical. "At least we're doing it together, right?"

"Together," I agreed, moving to examine the tiny backpacks. "Why does it look like they're packing for a week rather than a day?"

"Jeffrey insisted," Milo gestured to the lead skeleton, who was conducting a final inspection of his team's supplies. "He says the Vault has 'uncertain temporal properties' and we should be prepared for extended stays."

"The skeleton said that?"

"Well, more like he clacked it in Morse code while pointing at my necromancy textbook, but yes, essentially."

Footsteps announced the arrival of the others. Fenric entered first, immaculate despite the early hour, his tablet already glowing with what I assumed were last-minute preparations. His eyes found mine immediately, softening briefly before his bureaucratic mask slipped back into place.

"The equipment has been delivered to the Bureau," he reported, his fingers dancing across the screen. "Dr. Thornwick will meet us at the designated entry point in one hour."

Rook and Zane emerged next, both looking rested despite what we'd done the night before. Rook's amber eyes scanned me, checking for signs of distress, while Zane moved directly to the coffee pot with the single-minded focus of someone who needed caffeine before human interaction.

"Everyone sleep well?" Milo asked with exaggerated innocence.
