“Next Wednesday. Rowan helped me prepare for it so I don’t feel doom and gloom about it anymore.” I should talk to him about my money problems too. He’d know what to do. I pulled a card from the deck. “Hey, you’re trying to distract me.”

Ethel cheated as usual, but to this day, I’d never figured out how she did it.

Author’s notes:

Ethel reminds me so much of my grandma. She was a badass. Miss her always!

The return to reality of work and school after the wedding had been brutal. For the two following weeks, I’d been knee-deep in receipts, orders, and bills, on top of intense preparation for my final exam, with the only break to celebrate Anabelle’s birthday with Ethel. Rowan was working on my math with me, and even more importantly, helping me relax in the best way. We’d met nearly every day, apart from times I wanted to spend with Ethel or the evening events at the cafe. He’d taken to joining the bingo and karaoke nights, despite not taking part in singing. He’d sip his soda and sit at the back, or chat to whoever was new or alone.

At night, Rowan would sleep at my house, or I’d stay at his hotel room, and we’d end up curled together after making eachother come several times, or none at all if we were too exhausted after a long day.

He was meticulous about taking his stuff with him whenever he stayed over, but I convinced him to leave a spare toothbrush and a change of clothes at least. Clearly, he didn’t want to give me the wrong impression, but I made sure he knew I understood our arrangement and wouldn’t ask him for things he couldn’t give. He was leaving soon, and I was staying in Wendigo Hills for good. We both had busy lives, and driving back and forth was not an option for either of us. Which was fine. I’d made peace with it. And would use the time we have to the fullest.

I was about to meet him for a lunch break at the cafe to discuss its financial situation, and I had a genius idea on how to make the short meeting special. Black coffee with a hint of sea salt chocolate remained his favorite, so I prepared it the way he liked and snuck out to the staff room in the back and into my office. It was more of a closet with the tiniest desk known to man, but it had a safe with float and weekly earnings, and enough space for an old-school filing cabinet.

Hopping on top of the desk, I set the coffee cup aside and pulled out my dick. I closed my eyes and thought of Rowan and how he looked at me with hooded gaze, sipped his coffee with my cum in it, then came all over himself and my feet. I spat on my hand and jerked my cock faster, twisting my grip on the upstroke.

Remembering why I was pleasuring myself in the first place, I grabbed Rowan’s cup and released a string of my cum into it. “For you, my big man.” I took deep breaths, coming down from the rush, then cleaned up in the bathroom. With a wicked grin, I marched back through the staff doors and put a lid on the takeaway cup.

Rowan was already here; I knew it before I spotted him in his favorite armchair. He wasn’t alone. Troy was sitting next tohim, pointing to something on his phone. I’d agreed to Rowan discussing my situation with Troy, but I hadn’t been expecting him to come in today.

I had half a mind to dump Rowan’s coffee, but I couldn’t chicken out now, not when I wanted to see his expression when he tasted it so much. I headed toward the remote corner with a spring in my step.

“Hi there.” I joined Rowan and Troy. “What are you doing here?” I patted Troy on the back. “Do you need anything to drink?”

“Sophia made me a latte, thanks.” He lifted his cup. “My honeymoon is over, so I’m back.”

“Sorry to hear that. How was it?” I took a seat at the small table they were sitting at, with Rowan’s laptop on top. It had a Cryptid Café sticker on the lid next to the Cryptid Alliance one. Only two stickers. Not crazy, but good enough for a hot math geek.

“The parachute lessons were as scary as the zip lining Raina wanted to do.” He looked half horrified and half excited. “We had a fantastic time, but AlphaWave Finance wouldn’t let me take more than two weeks for the trip, so here I am.”

“Your company sucks.”

Troy shrugged one shoulder, then glanced at Rowan. “It does.”

“I’m glad you had fun on your honeymoon. How’s Raina?”

“She’s great. Not happy that we’re apart so soon. I figured since I’m here, I want to help you and Rowan figure out good business decisions.”

“Thanks. I appreciate that.”

“Oh, you do?” Rowan asked with pure sarcasm in his tone. “It took you weeks to accept my help on this.”

“Now I’m warmed up to the idea, so it’s easier.” I grinned innocently. “I brought you a special coffee.” I handed him the cup.

He accepted it and smiled. “You mean my favorite?”

“Yes. I hope so.”

Rowan squinted at me and took a sip. His eyes blew wide, and he smacked his lips as color tinted his cheeks. “My absolute favorite.”

“Is this the sea salt one you told me about?” Troy asked. “Can I try?”

“No!” Rowan and I said in unison.

Troy lifted his hands ‌in surrender. “Okay, chill. Keep your coffee.”
