“That’s my good girl.” Each thrust accentuated his point. “You’re mine.”
I grimaced at the pressure.
“Only mine.”
Then his movements stilled, and he gripped me harder, pressing himself tight against my ass, before collapsing onto my back as he filled me.
A small broken yelp escaped me as my knees buckled and we crumpled into the mattress. I hated what this had become in a few short days. I hated that I had caused this… created this.
And now… my favorite words… my favorite pastime.
He’d ruined them.

THE ANSWER’S IN THE STRIPES
Graham
I didn’t knowwhy I stood at Katie’s door when I should have been at the bottom of a bottle of whiskey trying to erase that I cared about her, but this wasn’t actually about her. I missed that little furball, and I knew sure as shit that he missed me too. After whatever-the-hell that was back at the manor, I needed something familiar, something normal—at least as normal as having a therapy cat could be.
My knuckles rapped three times on the door. “Katie! It’s Graham.”
She opened the door and the scent of incense, pot, and something foul rolled out and straight into my nostrils.
“Good God, what is that?” I coughed, waving my hand in front of myself, attempting to disperse whatever she’d cooked up. “You making meth in there?”
She cocked her hip and rested her hand on it. “Like I’d tell you.” She smirked. “Just working a spell. Wanna be my guinea pig?” She barely even looked at me before she floated back intoher kitchen.
“I’ll pass. The last time I took a strange concoction of yours I had an eighty-three-year-old man sizing up my junk.”
“Suit yourself.” She stirred the small cast-iron cauldron threatening to boil over.
“Maggie said Chester was here?”
“Yep. Chester!” Katie leaned toward the back room and held up a hand, amplifying her voice. “Your dad’s here!”
That sounded odd, but I’d been called worse.
It wasn’t even two seconds and a jingling purple and green bolt of furry lightning shot through the beaded curtain and into my arms.
“Hey, buddy! I missed you!” I snuggled him and was about to kiss his little forehead when I noticed the tiny green mohawk sticking up between his ears. I gave Katie a side-eye and kissed him anyway.
Chester’s motor instantly started, and he settled in making biscuits on my bicep.
“Katie, what the fuck is he wearing?” I lifted the purple cape with tiny bells on the hem from his back.
She gave me her classic sinister smile. “That’s his ceremonial robe. He and Tophie were practicing their sacrificial chants this morning, and he wanted to play in it after. I figured it’d be fine, as long as he didn’t get it dirty.”
I gave her a tight-lipped smile.
“Do you like his hair?” she asked.
“I think we should have discussed it first.” What the hell was I saying? He was a cat. “Yes. It’s fine.”
“Maggie was alright with it, and since the second half of the parental unit has not been present—” She lifted a brow at me. “An executive decision was made.”
“Yeah, well, I’m here now, and we have to get moving. Thanks for watching him,” I said and let myself out.
