“What men?” Brit asked.

“A very handsome one with long, blond hair, a rock-hard body, and the most soul-piercing eyes on the planet.”

“Maybeyoushould date him!”

They laughed.

“I found my true love,” Addison said before shrugging into her winter jacket. “Love you.”

She vanished down the stairs to exit through the garage.

“Love you!” Brit called after her.

Bing!

Providence had replied and copied Cooper.

Britain,

Your skills and work ethic make you a perfect fit with Luck Marketing. We’re thrilled to offer you the position of Junior Marketing Representative. There’s a ninety-day training period where you’ll be under the watchful guidance of a skilled mentor.

We’d love for you to start Wednesday. Short turn-around time, so let us know if that doesn’t work for you.

Kind regards,

Providence Luck

“Whoooo-hoooo!!!! Brit jumped up and down, then started twirling. After too-many spins, she staggered to the counter.

Easy there, wild woman.

She hoped that Addison would be her mentor, but she’d work with anyone. She called her dad. It rang, rolled to voicemail. She hung up.

Then, she called Addison. “Hey,” her sister answered.

“I got offered the job. I’m so excited!”

“Yay! That’s the best news! Congrats!”

“Thank you. I’m so happy I won’t be working alone. I missed being on a team so much.”

“I can’t wait to work with you!” Addison said.

“Dad’s calling me. Love you.” Brit clicked over. “Daddy?”

“Hello, Britain. Did you hear back?”

“I’m going to be a junior marketing rep for Luck!”

“Junior? I don’t like the sound of that.”

Britain was too elated to let her dad’s displeasure bring her down.

“I’m so happy. I loved my other job, but I’m going to be on a team… with other marketers. Yay!!!”

Her dad laughed. “Congratulations, honey. I’m very proud of you, but they’re the lucky ones.”

Brit ended the call and began twirling again.
