The first singer finished her set, and the one I wanted to see came out.
“Let me stop teasing you.” I kissed her ear. “This is the singer I wanted to see. If she’s interested, I may try to sign her.”
Harvest slightly turned in my arms and looked at me. My heart raced as I gazed into her eyes.
“That would be a good look. She sounds so good. I’m surprised no one has signed her yet. Good luck.”
“Thank you, baby.” I kissed her perfectly glossed lips. “I feel like with you here, I can accomplish anything.” I winked at her.
“Sir, don’t gas me up.” Harvest giggled.
“I’m being for real, though. I just feel like you may be my good luck charm.”
“We shall see.”
Harvest and I tuned back into the singer. When she performed a cover of a popular song, I sang in Harvest’s ear as we swayed to the music. The whole time she giggled, but I loved to see her smile and the sounds of her laughter. She seemed so free, and that made my chest swell for being able to give her that space.
I kept Harvest in my arms until the girl finished. Instead of trying to talk to the girl, I made a note to reach out to her or her team to set up a meeting. I wanted the focus to be on Harvest, so we spent some time at the festival. People noticed Harvest and asked for pictures, and she took them with everyone that asked. I tried to play the background so nobody would notice me, and as far as I knew, no one did. Some of them looked like they knew it was me, but nobody said anything.
Harvest informed me that her friends were leaving, so she wanted to spend some time with them before they did. I knew she would be staying longer, so we parted ways for a little bit. She also informed me she had an upcoming photo shoot, and she needed to get ready for that. While she was gone, I set up some things for us to do, and I reached out to the girl’s team.
The time Harvest and I spent so far had been great, and I couldn’t wait to spend more time with her.
I wassurprised I hadn’t heard from Victor the whole time I was away. Granted, we were on a break, but still. Maybe he was enjoying his time apart just as much as I was. I think I was enjoying mine a little too much. A couple of times, I felt like I shouldn’t spend as much time with Boston as I had been. I couldn’t help it, though, because I liked him already. There were so many good qualities about him that I had discovered in the short amount of time we’d been married. I still couldn’t believe we were married, and I didn’t fight him on it. It was crazy as hell, but it felt right. Boston was so easy to talk to. He actually listened and seemed interested in the things I said. He made me laugh, and the dick was the bomb. The man was the total package. I wouldn’t lie and say that, in the back of my mind, I didn’twonder what made his fiancée leave him for real, but it wasn’t my business. I had to base things off the way he treated me, and so far, that man had treated me like I was a princess, and I loved it. There was no sense in worrying about something I may not ever get the answer to.
Boston and I had a little time apart because I needed to see my friends before they left. I had to stay in Vegas longer because I had a photo shoot, and I hoped I would get another while I was here. While being with my friends, I realized I missed Boston. I told them about the time he and I spent together, and they encouraged me to see things through. I was told that I was glowing, and they hadn’t seen me like that in a long time. I had to admit that Boston was the reason for that glow. As my grandmother would say, I was smitten.
I was in the middle of getting ready when I received a text message from Boston.
Your husband:
Good morning, mama. Good luck today. I know you are going to kill that shit. I can’t wait to see you later.
I laughed at his name in my phone, because I had no clue he had done that. I wasn’t mad at it, though. I knew he had me saved as wifey in his phone.
Me:
Good morning. Thank you and I can’t wait to see you either.
Spending the night by myself made me realize just how fast I felt attached to Boston, and I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not. Was this whole thing moving too fast? Or did it happen when it was supposed to?
I didn’t have time to spiral in my thoughts because it was time for me to head to my photo shoot.
My steps faltered when I walked out of the hotel room and spotted Noah leaning against the rental car Boston was using.
“Noah.” I walked slowly toward him. “What are you doing here?” I looked around and wondered where Boston was.
“Good morning, Harvest. Boston told me to make sure you got to your shoot in one piece, so that’s what I’m here to do.” He smiled, then opened the car door.
Boston had informed me he had a couple of meetings to go to, so him sending Noah was a surprise.
“Oh, okay.” I got in the car. My stomach fluttered when I saw the flowers on the seat.
Noah closed the door and walked around to the driver’s seat. I picked up the flowers and pulled out the card inside.
Harvest, these flowers are just a small token of my appreciation for you spending time with me the last few days. I already told you good luck, but I’m saying it again. You’re beauty personified, so I know those pictures are going to come out perfectly. I’ll see you later, baby. ~Boston
I smiled at his words. I wanted to thank him for the flowers, but I decided to wait until later. I didn’t want to interrupt him while he was in meetings.
