“Ok. Retrieve my rental so I don’t have to pay an arm and a leg in parking fees, then find the nearest bed for round two.”
“And three… and four…”
I laughed. “I can see why you planned to take some personal time in the morning.”
“Are you complaining?”
“Not one bit.”
“Good, because I plan to thoroughly enjoy our first night together.”
“Me too, omega-mine, me too.”
We kissed until my knot released, then, after quickly wiping Flynn’s cum from the wall, we headed down.
I’d arrived looking for a building, but I was leaving with a mate.
Chapter 12 - Flynn
Waking up in my alpha’s arms for the first time had been bliss—as had been the lovemaking right after.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to stay in that romantic bubble for long. Tuesday morning meant that we each had jobs to deal with—even though I didn’t know how much longer mine would last.
There was a voicemail from William when I arrived at the office. He seemed marginally annoyed when I informed him that I was going to pass the information for Dylan’s company to the landlord, and I was sure that he had been hoping to smooth things over with the health spa people by being able to get them in at a later date.
Luckily, he seemed eager to get me out of his hair. And he was still going to make a nice commission.
Connie arrived later that morning with the financial packet for the landlord. She smirked at me when she noticed the fresh bond bite on my neck, but didn’t say anything about it.
After that, everything seemed to happen in record time. The landlord had approved the lease reassignment by Thursday, and Dylan’s boss flew out the following Monday to tour the building and sign in-person.
Dylan and I waited in the lobby for his boss—Linden—and Connie to arrive for a final walkthrough and the signing.
“You ok?” Dylan asked, brushing his lips across my temple.
“You didn’t like this building just because I was here, did you?”
My alpha burst into laughter. “No, omega-mine. If I didn’t like the building, then I’d have said so.”
“Really?”
“Promise. I love you, and I’m glad I was able to rescue you from brokers and sitting in here alone. But there are other people I have to think about, too. I’m about to have a lot of interns under me, along with mentors and other staff. All those improvements being left behind are an amazing bonus, but this is a good space where I think my people will be able to flourish.”
I smiled, hummed, and tucked myself against his side.
We stayed that way for several minutes until I noticed two men approaching the door. Dylan straightened beside me as we waited for them to press the buzzer.
I unlocked the door for one of the final times as a representative of Carré.
“Linden,” Dylan greeted, then he turned to the older man. “Alan. I didn’t know you were coming today.”
The older man—Alan, if I’d heard correctly—laughed. “Linden invited me to see where you were going to set up.”
Dylan laughed. “I’m sorry I didn’t think to invite you myself.”
Alan shook his head. “Don’t worry about it. Now, who is this?”
Another nervous chuckle from my alpha. “Sorry. Linden, Alan, this is my new mate, Flynn. Flynn, this is Linden McKinney, Chief Operating Officer of Techspeed Consulting, and Alan Beischel…”
