“How?” I can’t get my head around it. How could I change so much? How does everyone around me know before I do?
“Your scent has changed,” Sobek says.
“Oh.” I look down at my sandaled feet. That … makes sense. A lot of sense.
“Let’s go sit,” Tek says, grabbing my arm and dragging me away. I stumble after him.

Tek shakes his head as I look back at Sobek and Terek. “You must allow them to sort it out,” he says, then drags me inside the compound.
