“Fuck,” he groans, his movement growing frantic. His eyes squeeze shut, and just as everything inside me breaks, he moans with his release.
I clutch him, my legs wrapped around his waist, my fingers digging into his biceps. All my coherent thoughts scatter to the edges of the universe. There’s nothing but the roar of my blood in my ears, and the hard buzz of my climax in every inch of my body.
He collapses on top of me, keeping his weight on his forearms. His forehead is pressed against mine as he makes a few more shallow thrusts. “God, Sunshine. You’re going to get me addicted to this,” he says in a raw voice.
My heart pounds, and at the back of my mind, something starts to flicker in warning, but I’m still too incoherent to make out exactly what it is.
He pulls out of me and goes to the bathroom to get rid of the condom.
I stare at the ceiling, slowly becoming aware of the mess between my legs. “I should go get cleaned up,” I mumble weakly once Rowan comes back to bed.
My legs feel like jelly as I stand up. I take a moment to orient myself, noticing the clothes scattered all over the floor. In my current state, there’s a high chance I’m going to trip on something, so I bend down and pick up my dress and Rowan’s jeans.
Something clatters loudly against the ground.
“What’s this?” I ask, picking up the two silver objects that must have fallen out of his pocket.
Rowan quickly sits up in bed. “Let me see.”
It takes me a moment to realize they’re cufflinks—silver with two black diagonal stripes.
“I’ve never seen you wear these.” I turn the cufflinks over in my palm. There’s something engraved on the inside part. “NDL,” I read aloud. “What does that stand for?” The letters are slightly faded but still visible. Could be the brand that made them, but the letters don’t look like they were stamped at a factory. It’s almost like the letters were etched by hand.
I toss them in my hand. For such little things, they’re heavy.
“I have no idea,” Rowan says.
I look back up at him and catch a strange expression on his face, but then it’s gone. He smiles at me and opens his hand. The second I give the cufflinks back to him, he tosses them into the nightstand drawer by the bed, slams it shut, and gives me a shrug. “I got them for cheap at a secondhand store. They belonged to someone else.”
“They look expensive. That’s a good find.” My voice trails off as he climbs off the bed and prowls toward me, his cock already swelling once again.
He backs me against a wall and presses his lips to my neck. “Let’s save the cleanup for when we’re done here.”
“We’re not done?”
He grins. ”Not even close.”
CHAPTER 30
BLAKE
When I wake up, there’s a heavy arm slung over my waist, and a muscular thigh wedged between my legs.
My eyes fly open.
Oh.Oh.
Last night comes back to me in a series of R-rated snapshots.
I bite down on my bottom lip and carefully turn my head to steal a glance at Rowan’s face.
He’s still asleep, thank God.
There’s an ache between my legs, my jaw is sore, and my lips feel puffy and raw.
Well, I know who’s responsible for all that.
After we did it the first time, we did it again. And then once more. It’s like we both couldn’t get enough. The desire that had been building day after day of being in his presence, the desire I’d worked so hard to repress, had become a living, breathingthing, and it wouldn’t rest until it got its fill. My body giving out finally ended things. He was still pulsating inside me, milking the last tremors of my orgasm out of me when my eyelids drifted shut, and I passed out.
