“Ronnie, I know you better than this. No matter how good the dick is, it doesn’t make the man.”
“You judging me?” I raised my eyebrow.
Despite all the shit she did in her life, I never spoke negatively about it. I’d appreciate the same courtesy. “You know I’ll never judge you, boo, but Sin Sizza ain’t the one.” She barely knows him. All she knows is what she’s seen on the internet.
“We’re just having fun,” I downplayed it. It started as me being horny and needing dick, but now I liked him.
“You don’t have fun, Ron. You fall in love, and I’m telling you he ain’t the one. What did your dad say? I know he called you already.”
“The same thing you’re saying.” I got off on my exit then made a right at the stoplight.
“Well, we agree on something this time. I won’t get in your business, but I want you to think about the life you want. Ask yourself if Sin’s who you want that life with.” Sucking my teeth, I made the last left to get to my destination.
“Ok,Iyanna Fix My Life,” I joked. She laughed along with me.
“Fuck you, bitch. You know I love you.” I heard a sigh.
“Well, I guess I’ll go home to get under my man. Be careful, boo.” I smiled.
“I will. Bye.”
I hung up just in time to pull into a brick warehouse. It was completely deserted out here. No other buildings were around, and men were unloading something from off the back of a pickup truck. I squinted my eyes to get a better look. Are those handguns?
What the fuck is going on?
Chapter 14
Sincere ‘Sin’
“Aye,man. Don’t slam them down like that. One of them gone go off in this muthafucka!” I yelled blowing smoke in the air.
These niggas ain’t got no sense. Sitting in the chair, I’m watching them bring all the guns through the door. Cruz found all the workers from around the hood. He’d just hired this new nigga to drive our trucks across the border, and I have to keep yelling at his ass every five minutes.
That’s why I needed Ronnie to bring me this NDA. The way he’s moving around here, he’s liable to get caught slipping. This form will get me off the hook if he ends up in jail. I’m a well-known rapper, so my name’s gotta stay out of it.
My phone went off, and I immediately knew it was Ronnie.
Hopping up, I walked toward the warehouse door to let her in. She stared back at me, wide-eyed.
“What’s going on, Sin? Are you smuggling guns in here?” Pushing her through the small slit in the door, I led her to a spot in the corner. She was gone fuck up my whole operation.
“Fuck you so loud for Ronnie?” I asked, getting distracted by how good she looked.
“Answer me Sin. Why did you tell me to come here? I’m a lawyer.” This bitch is stating the obvious. I wouldn’t be fucking with her if she weren’t who she was.
“But you my girl, right?” I hugged her waist, her head shaking in disbelief.
“Aye, relax, girl. Don’t nobody know shit about this.”
“I do.” She looked around. “This is so wrong Sincere. I can’t be involved in your crimes. I can lose my license.”
“You’re not, I promise.” I kissed her neck.
“You got the form for me?” Ronnie went inside her bag, pulling out a yellow envelope.
When she gave it to me, I sat it on the table before grabbing her hand. Ronnie looked ready to jump out of her own skin. She was terrified. I don’t need her busting up my side business. Pulling her hand, I took her to a dark corner at the back of the warehouse.
“You’ll keep this between us, right?” Ronnie stayed quiet as she nibbled on her lip, turning her head. With my fingers, I reached out to move it back toward me. “You riding with me, right?” I repeated.
